Bro. You just pointed out how Itachi is even further of a Mary Sue.

Instead of being told or called out on this, Itachi self-admits this. He solves his own problems instead of others solving it for him. That’s what a Mary Sue does too.

One-shots a Sannin with Genjutsu at age of 13. One-shots SAME Sannin again on his deathbed with Totsuka blade blitz.

Hokage wisdom at age 7.

True Hokage as admitted by Sasuke.

Worshipped by a bunch of Uchiha wannabes.

Shanks actually just got on his level by Buggy’s flashback dickriding young Shanks to be PK material. That is literally Itachi-leve

I'm not a Shanks fan for the same reason, but I think Itachi laps him in being a Gary Stue quite honestly.

Itachi puts every other Gary Stue to shame, from the series I have read I can't name someone who can match his resume.

The dude undid death itself lmao. Like leave it to Itachi to get out of edo tensei's control. Then he defeats DSM Kabuto who is like 20 times stronger than he ever was, because of a very convenient ability.

He made Orochimaru who was established as the strongest sannin, look like an absolute fodder.

And the odd few times a character was allowed to look impressive against Itachi, it was all according to his keikaku (Sasuke, Jiraiaya). The same Sasuke that supposedly kept up with Itachi, got blitzed by Killer Bee despite precog and MS. The same Killer Bee was getting outsped by Itachi.

He is just HIM. Kishi invented an illness because god forbid someone puts Itachi down.

Nah, Kakashi the minute he froze up against Orochimaru failed to be anywhere near Itachi as a mary sue. Kakashi consistently takes Ls. Itachi's Ls are all self inflicted or self realized.

Disagree. Against Kabuto, he was only “humiliated” in battle in some moments but Kabuto literally called Itachi perfect (unnecessary wank), and the end outcome is that he beat Kabuto using a super convenient new technique while EMS Sasuke (of all people!) took a backseat.

Never outsmarted by Obito himself, the Amaterasu actually got him but he just didn’t know that Obito would have a counter. Itachi if he were to fight Obito, I bet with everything I have Kishimoto would find a way to make Itachi BARELY win or stalemate. Because as crazy as Obito was, it is very clear Kishimoto never wanted Itachi to lose.

from a western point of view, itachi's backstory is odd, but it is a very common narrative in japanese fiction, narratives where a clan is eliminated for attempting a coup to overthrow the shogun are very common in japan.
for example, jiraiya is based on the protagonist of a play where his clan is eliminated accused of attempting a coup against the shogun, they were eliminated in one night before they had the opportunity to pull off the coup, exactly like the uchiha clan in naruto.
if the uchiha clan had attempted the coup, they would have lost and would have been executed anyway. the difference is that sasuke would have died too. itachi wasn't just trying to prevent civilian deaths, he was also trying to save his brother's life.
i think itachi is a good character and his backstory made the character better.
