Future Events Fujitora and Ryokugyu are Narrative Foils: The Second Conflict Between Admirals?

#21
It's hard to say. If Fuji will fight against Ryo, the WG will lose a big part of his military strenght before the war and we have a lot of characters who need a fight: Luffy, Dragon, Sabo, Law, Kidd, Zoro, Sanji, Yamato...

Nah Fujitora definitely hates the Celestial Dragons who think they are gods lol, did you not see Fujitora’s rage at the idea of the Government thinking they are gods?
Fuji is just a humble human. He ofc hates the WG, but he wants to change the system from within. Arguably that's also what Garp wanted and Luffy, Ace and Law would have likely achieved had they joined the Navy.

I didn't say that he didn't hate them, but he's only after warlords. Aramaki doesn't care about warlords.

Fujitora was friendlier and chill with Aramaki than anyone else in the series and so was he with Fujitora.

“The reason I accepted the rank of Admiral is that there are many things I would like to see come to fruition, one of which is the complete abolition of the Shichibukai system”

Yeah Fujitora is definitely wanting to change much more than just the Warlords lol, people really need to go back and look at Issho again because he is after much more than just the Shichibukai. You can’t tell me Fujitora becomes outraged at Doflamingo taking slaves and killing innocents but is fine when the Celestials do the same shit lol…

I have no idea what translation you are using. Official and unofficial only mention warlords as his only thing.

Isn't that the point of his justice? Turning the blind eye for the greater good?
Just like how he was helping out Doflamingo in Dressrosa by turning the blind eye, he probably also turns the blind eye to celestial dragons because pirates are worse?

It appears I was remembering an anime translation where Issho references multiple “things” he wants to accomplish and not just one:

Not canon but I’m sticking to my guns on this one, I’m pretty positive Issho hates the Celestials lol.

Sure, but what is the greater good? Not the Celestial Dragons, that’s for Damn sure. Fujitora should hate them:

Nah there’s no way Issho thinks Pirates are worse than the Celestials. Maybe some Pirates but not Pirates as a whole. He probably has no problem with Pirates like Shanks or Whitebeard and especially Luffy. But Issho’s whole character is about him disliking the World Government, he calls he and Sabo “birds of a feather” lol

@kurwa @Fleet Admiral Lee Hung
-Justice: Fujitora's priority has always been protecting the innocent. During Dressrosa he prioritized that over anything else.
First he sided with Doflamingo as he was sure once the Strawhats wreak havoc it will endanger civilian life. What made him change sides is when Doffy created the bird cage, there he had no choice but to bet on the Strawhats for the overall well being of the DR citizens.

Fujitora thinks that even with the current WG, innocent people of the world can still be protected and live decent lives. The reason he abolished the warlord system was not because he hated these pirates the way Akainu does
Fuji always had the common people's well being in his mind. It's what Smoker told him and what he witnessed in Dressrosa

-Loyalty to the WG: Fujitora is not an idiot, he understands the value and weight of his position, and he did remark to Doflamingo that his position as admiral will allow him to work on his goals. If he still wants to makes changes in the system and help purify the justice enacted by the WG, he has no choice but to keep his position. This was one of the dilemmas he face in Dressrosa, he could not lay a hand on Doflamingo because that would immediately lose him his position.

It's not like Issho was happy with the whole situation. He's simply helpless against a system that's larger than the world.

Fujitora is likely in favor of a WG system but s33ing how his justice is humane justice first and foremost he's definitely not on good terms with the celestial dragons. If he had the choice to clean them up from system I don't think he'd think twice.
However, that's not really a possible reality for a character in his position.

Again, it's not about hating, it's about what his goal is. And he only mentioned warlords.
I'm sure he hates celestial dragons as well, but that doesn't mean his goal is to de-throw them
Sure, but what is the greater good? Not the Celestial Dragons, that’s for Damn sure. Fujitora should hate them:
Greater good could be having laws and justice instead of having a lawless world without WG, where pirates do whatever they want to do like with Crocodile or Doflamingo.
Nah there’s no way Issho thinks Pirates are worse than the Celestials. Maybe some Pirates but not Pirates as a whole.
Why not?
What are you basing on that pirates are better than Celestial Dragons? Aren't most pirates supposed to be rapists, thieves, murderers...etc?

I know that we follow this story with only the good pirates but I still think the story pretty clearly says that 99% of pirates are "evil/bad"
Fujitora's literally one and only goal was to destroy pirates that serve WG.

Then why would he declare himself and Sabo birds of a feather? Sabo who is a Revolutionary and thus explicit enemy of the Government and the Celestials?

I never said Fujitora wants a lawless world lol but he definitely doesn’t want the Celestial Dragons in power and wants to drastically change the current Government.

Why not?

Fujitora’s entire Dressrosa arc is about his dislike/disdain for the Government itself. Like I said he’s not a fan of Pirates but every action he took in Dressrosa was to expose the problems with the Shichibukai system, which he specifically hates because the Government is allowing these Pirates to hurt innocent people. And then he basically calls himself a Revolutionary lol

Their personalities and way of conducting justice are completely oppoisite.
That said, narratively it doesn't add anything if they fought each other, if anything the government might be short on man power in the final war so there's really no room to lose an admiral

@HA001 OF THE RAIN @MarineHQ as you guys can see if been of the opinion that this is going to happen in some form for a while now. I doubt this small skirmish at Reverie is the last time these guys will fight, just imagine if in the final war two Admirals start fighting each other. Lol
I would have been cool with Akainu fighting Fuji too but Ryo is also nice (but Akainu vs Fuji is better)

As a low key Issho wanker, I actually wouldn't mind Fuji to fight and defeat Akainu during the final war as I'm a hard believer that he will be the fleet admiral of the "reformed" Navy lol, but out of all the options (Luffy/Sabo/Dragon) he seems the last likey sadly. So the Akainu's fanboy seems to be the best option if he ends up switching side.

Honestly I think I prefer Fujitora vs Akainu to Luffy vs Akainu at this point, but I think Fujitora’s narrative foil is Ryokugyu and if Fujitora ends up having a big fight vs any Marine, it will be him. Just imagine another Punk Hazard in the middle of new Marineford when the Marines are supposed to be fighting Pirates.

If Fujitora really is the Fleet Admiral at EOS, then him fighting and defeating another Admiral could mark the moment that he metaphorically surpasses Admiral tier and reaches that Fleet Admiral status.
