Amazon Lily is isolated from the outside world, they refer to the unknown world as 'central'.
So there's really no meaning to it beyond that

I can't remember any rn but all those times the Straw Hats make references to real world places like Greece and fishmen appear that are named after species with real world regions in their names reminds me of something from Toriko, that ugly looking anime and manga that used to have crossovers with One Piece all the time.

The Toriko manga had a place called Central World which was a small region of the planet with islands shaped like real world ones, and they later revealed that it was because that small region used to be earth before organic meteors started raining down and increasing the planet's mass, changing its appearance to the point of being unrecognisable. I'm not a fan of the idea but I sometimes think that that's where Oda might be taking the story.
