There is absolutely a difference between gender and sex. Some try to argue biological sex is not a thing (which is laughable). Ultimately, the saddest thing for transitioners (and I know from experience) is when you realise no matter what you do... you're not changing your sex and you never can.

As a person, I rather someone be miserable with the truth than be happy with a lie. If you learn the truth early, you have to time to feel acceptance and build your own happiness. Living a lie, you will eventually learn the truth the hard way and it can be even more devastating.

A trans person has every right to dress how they want, talk how they want and has access to the basic human rights like everyone else and should always fight for their right to exist as a human being. However, they cannot fight biology and genetics. This is an identity issue and the only one who can truly dictate how you see yourself is well...yourself.
