If someone has to exaggerate what I say, constantly throw labels my way, make assumptions and try to bait then they deserve no respect since they can't engage in a calm civil manner.

It takes no effort to engage with someone on a leveled playing field. It takes more effort to make that person out to be a bad person simply because they disagree with you.
