Katakuri fits to be Linlin YC1 despite his design being unique (especially attire)

Comparing Jack to King is like comparing Mr. 3 to Mr. 1 or Jabura to Lucci or Cracker to Katakuri and so on.
King is significantly stronger than Jack. No joke, you can put dozens of characters between King and Jack, that's how big the difference is. In fact, King >= Marco >= Katakuri > Doffy > Queen >= Denjiro > Sulong Dukes > Jack > Inu~Nekomamushi~Ashura Doji~Perospero

Jacks role was to hype king and queen and did it perfectly.
He was powerful and intimidating, his bounty was the first 10 digit bounty we’ve ever seen and he was comparable to the strongest member of big moms crew. This strength just made king and queens that much more impressive since he is much weaker than them.

It’s not great, but it did the job. Oda no longer needed to hype king and queen cause he showed what a billion berry commander is capable of in Jack and Kata, so the only thing oda needed to do was have Jack cower before them and show them having much higher bounties.
It sucks for that character but it’s effective.

Yeah that’s a valid criticism. But that’s mostly because of odas dependency on plot armor. Oda hates seeing his “protagonists” lose.
And he did this to a degree, he used Big Mom. Big Mom was the only antagonist oda could use to hype these two so he had King attack her ship and knock her into the sea then had Queen fight her and capture her personally.
I’m not going to give wano any props, Oda hyping them up was messy and being how people still try to downplay them pretty ineffective to a lot of people.
