People go too strong at Hiruzen. Yeah he wasn't perfect. But my guy was the longest reigning Hokage who managed to guide Konoha through 2(?) Shinobi Wars, successfully managed to hide Naruto's identity from the other villages thus saving his jinchuriki and also keeping him safe from Minato's enemies. Even provided food and shelter iirc to Naruto. Yeah he wasn't the ideal father to Naruto but that wasn't really what he needed to be. And yeah he fucked up a bit with Orochi but hey no one is really perfect.

It's been over a decade, but iirc, I more or less watched all of Naruto and the beginning of Shippuden until Kakazu was defeated on tv, then switched to the japanese dub until Pain was defeated, then jumped to the manga a few years later with a few breaks in between and continued to read it until it was finished

Heck, I even own a handful of mangas lol
Ironically I don't own a single Op volume
