There is no need this need that. Kaido did beat all of them 9 without needing external help. A young prime admiral like kuzan needed to get his hands dirty by needing external help of the dirtiest scumms of pirates to beat not even a yonko but a mere Larine.

Is this that surprising really ? The guy is here since chap 1 and we know the moment he said he would become an admiral that he was bound to greatness

you may not like the character but he was 100% top tier material since the end of first arc of the manga

At the start Koby only wanted to join the Navy which isn't that high of a goal. He only wanted to be Admiral post-Enies Lobby, in any case at age 16.

If you look at the list of of Conqueror Haki users, Luffy, Zoro, Dofla, Kata, Kaido, Big Mom, Yamato etc all had high ambitions/greatness at a far younger age as little kids. It's probably the same for others like Garp, WB, Roger.
