Powers & Abilities Shanks vs mihawk fighting styles

Sandai wasn't cutting more than zoro was capable of but cutting without will of it's user there is a difference you need to stop twisting shit for agenda. Shusui was clear powerup over yubashiri which was lower grade weapon nobody denied this. Enma on the other hand has been nothing a nerf for Zoro whole arc until he started overfeeding it together with Wado and Sandai. It doesn't surpass Shusui in grade doesn't offer any advantages. Zoro is simply using more haki which he would have been forced to whether he inherited enma or not to deal with King
Sandai is able to cut more easier than zoro is capable of doing with his other swords. Sandai has the easiest time cutting through things something that’s a power up for someone that cuts things

A swords strength is more than its durability rank. Wado and enma being the most obvious example of that. With only one of them being hyped as his magnum opus. There’s a clear difference between how blades are portrayed even within grades

Not thinking enma after being tamed is a power up is dumb but still believing it’s a nerf is stupid. Tho tbf any untamed blade can be seen as not a power up I guess..

No
You can’t just say zoro is capable of doing whatever boosts his sword give him without them. That like saying shusui is pointless zoro can just learn to swing harder instead
Yes zoro has to tame and master some of his blades but that doesn’t mean they don’t boost his strength once they are
You posted the panels for those. Now post where it says Enma is doing something other than taking Zoro Ryou. It never said Zoro can't let out haki
“Gotta unleash this enma a bit more

“enmaaa!!! Who gave you permission to unleash your power?!!”
These whole panels

“If this drags on, the SWORD will suck the life from me!!”

I swear some of y’all try to suck zoro off more than enma itself
:sanmoji:
There’s nothing wrong with enma or any of zoro’s blades making him stronger and giving him boost that he wouldn’t have without them. Zoro still has to work hard and train in order to master it. Power ups are ok there’s no need to be insecure about them

Enma is a nerf
Stop writing essays to deny the truth

It has been called a nerf in manga and king said Enma is holding Zoro back

Bro idc about Enma is a PU or not. I want you to post a panel where it states Zoro can't let out his haki itself. All you posted it daying its taking Zoro Ryou. Literally it tells you what it dies when Zoro first picks it up. You keep saying it gave him a boost?? Thats his Ryou what are you even talking about?

Personally, I've always felt that if you wanted insight in to how a character fights then one of the best places to look at that is Video Games.

If you look at the game techniques for Mihawk it always talks about him having Night based Attacks or Void based Attacks. That means he has a Darkness/Hell theme.

Look at his moveset in this game. His attacks are based on the Night/Moon and one of his strongest attacks which turns the entire screen dark is called, "Black Blade: The Void."

That is a link for a Mihawk gameplay with movesets.

There isn't much to be said about Shanks gameplay though because it mostly just involved Conqueror's Haki based attacks used in a variety of ways. This probably speaks more of the lack of insight into his actual abilities. The team may have been told Shanks can only show that and not really anything else. It has a lot of, "Power" moves and uses a Hero theme for many attacks.

Here's a Shanks gameplay with a supposedly complete moveset from the same game. Pirate Warriors 4.

Read what zoro say’s there. What do you think he means by he needs to unleash enma more?
If enma wasn’t necessary it means zoro somehow didn’t realize before he could just use more haki for stronger attacks. Along with zoro, Hiyori, the scabbard, big mom, kaido, and even the guy who made it where hyping it for no reason a sword worse than Wado

And again even if they both have conquerors there should still be enough differences between shanks and mihawk to make both interesting in action

I remember back when people thought Mihawk was secretly Shanks First Mate spying on the Navy lol

If that were true, and he was the First Mate, then it would be like 60/40 odds of Shanks beating Mihawk in the same way it usually is for a Luffy Vs. Zoro fight. I mean, it's not like Zoro would have no chance because sometimes he's in charge of stopping Luffy if he does something ridiculous. The only problem there being the odds of a First Mate stopping a Captain are usually low.

Or am I smoking too much

It's easy, just based on design we can clearly see that shanks fighting style is close combat based on speed while mihawk is about long range attack with immense ap:endthis:

I wonder if we will ever know how tf those guys use elemental powers on their sword.

Kinemon and shanks with fire, kaido and yamato with thunder

powers relating to blades and eyes like?
has that ever been explored in the story
what are those powers

its simple
the strongest swordsmen weve seen to date even in the land of samurai placed an emphasis on haki
the person on the path to being the strongest swordsman is no different
mihawk is no different.
Swords? Yeah multiple times specifically with zoro
Eyes? No but with eyes as rare as mihawk’s I don’t think it’s crazy to assume they’re special

Also the wano samurai focus on a very specific application of haki. Ryou aka the way they use barrier armament. It’s the same thing zoro was told about in Shimotsuki Village and used in alabast

Even oden as strong as he was didn’t have penetration armament or future sight as far as we know. It’s not something we can automatically grant to mihawk either imo

They use swords. Fight with swords. Their style is with said sword. They're swordsman. Simplest of concepts to get, somehow slips past some of you lot smh

Mihawk:

- Gentle Blade
- Strong Blade
- Two-handed
- One-handed
- Air Slash techs
- Air Cannon techs
- Advanced level of CoA hardening to his blade
- Advanced level of CoO (range-related, AoE related)
- CoC Coating sword techs
- Black Blade secret techs (fusing CoA and CoC together?)

---

Shanks

- flaming sword (whatever it is)
- Advanced CoC ranged stun / DF-canceller or power-canceller
- CoC Coating blue fire (ranged damage dealer)
- CoC Coating crude and untrained slashes

Lol run out of ideas

Mihawk is a master of both the Strong Blade and Gentle Blade styles.

Shanks is likely only a master of the Strong Blade, and due to missing an arm, can't dual wield swords or use one made for two-handed use.
