Luffy has mastered his devil fruit through awakening with seemingly no major power up related to it coming any time soon. Outside of the obvious making g4 and 5 less taxing. It’s a stretch no pun intended but maybe he learns logia awakening somehow

He also gained high level haki technique like future observation , penetration armament, and conquerors coating/infusion. I also think flame armament is lowkey a high level technique
When it comes to what he can improve in each category
  • Observation haki just needs basic improvements like
    • Increasing the amount of time he capable of using it. So he can passively always have it on
    • Improve his range/radar
  • Armament haki pretty much same as above but instead of range/radar improve its resistancy/toughness
  • Conquerors haki idk. There might be other abilities and levels to it we don’t know of

What if his next step is getting a weapon or 2 like nika? Specifically a sword and spear

  1. Off the bat no it wouldn’t effect zoro or mihawk because luffy wouldn’t be a swordsman. More like big mom, king, or queen just people that can use swords along with a bunch of other things
  2. As to what weapons specifically I think him getting Roger and whitebeards would be the coolest options
  3. Also all the emperors have weapons excluding luffy with even Blackbeard having one. Him having his claw weapon that he scarred shanks with and has been seen with even as a child
I don’t think luffy will get related any science related boost but I’m not against it completely. Idk what they’d be tho

Same applies to him having powers related to him being a d or monkey imo

Katakuri is a brawler yet still uses a trident spear and also snipes jellybeans
Kuzan is a brawler yet can use sabers too
Kizaru is a kicker who can snipe and use a sword

His next PU might be gaining a weapon and mastering it, and also VoAT/D. Ancestral power ups.
He is already yonko level as Teach, he doesn't need 1-2 Super PUs, he just needs a weapon + his own physical stats and haki to beat Teach when his df is almost useless due to Yami.

Maybe he gets a spear (which will make him mirror Katakuri again) and a sword at the same time as nika was.

A special weapon or 2 special weapons for Teach
VoAT/Ancestral PU for Imu

Honestly Katakuri lowkey might be a pretty good reference as to what future luffy might be capable of
So clear abilities/skills kata has luffy include
  1. His logia like body that makes most non haki attacks useless + makes it easier to avoid attacks in general
    • Doubt luffy is going to suddenly become a logia but maybe he learns logia awakening
    • Too his improve his reaction time maybe he learns his own version of kami-e aka paper arts. Basically mastered gum gum Baka lol
  2. Him having a reinforced form of armament with block mochi
    • Maybe luffy can learn a similar ability. Either with his fruit somehow or his own version of tekkai
  3. Kata having a back up weapon with mogura to add to his deadliness
    • Luffy might eventually just get a weapon of his own
  4. Better marksmen
    • Idk tbh lol. Luffy already names his attacks after guns and stuff idk

Coincidentally luffy going the route of grown stronger through a weapon and developing even more of his own versions of rokushiki could lead to him paralleling Roger and Garp.

The sword and the spear are likely just symbolic of his right and left hand: Zoro and Sanji which is why they’re in that specific hand and are the weapons most heavily connected to those two.

As for luffys next power up it’ll probably be a D power since we’re getting to that point in the story with Imu and Teach

Thinking about it it’d be funny for luffy to use a sword or spear and use it to wack people instead of cut sometimes
With his awakening he can turn them into rubber basically making them blunt

Luffy probably wouldn't get any more Gears power-up since it's stated that G5 is his peak DF power but most likely that he has alternatives forms for it just like G4.

His Haki still have room for improvement though.

Luffy can likely use all his gear abilities in 5 with it being a perfect combination of everything he can do in one form imo. So I don’t think he’ll have a boundman/snake man transformation within g5 but he’ll still able to do those attacks

Outside of basic improvements do you think he’ll achieve even more advanced forms of haki?

I actually think Luffy will somehow get logialike ability too
He's gonna havs 3 in 1 powerup with g5 while Teach will have 3 dfs

I do think him getting a logia like awakening ability is slightly possible. We don’t know what it is yet so the door is a bit open
I don’t think he’ll get logia like intangibility tho. The closest thing possible imo is mastering his own version of kami-e

  • Blackbeard with 3 devil fruits probably one of each type
  • Shanks with 3 advanced form of haki. Him probably having an even more advanced form of conquerors
  • Luffy having 2 of each potentially learning the 2 he’s missing

Logia armament is pronably the last armament advanced lvl and explains how tf shanks use fire alongside with yamato and kaido using thunder.
