It's not the Live Action's existence that bothers me, it's that it's coming right after Oda said he wanted to pick up the pace.
You cannot manage your manga's pace properly if you have to babysit Netflix while they adapt your anime, it just doesn't make sense.
I want the Live Action to be good at this point, but, the timing of it is frustrating. At the least, Oda needs to pick between being involved in the anime movies and being involved in the Live Action. Doing both at his age and with his sleep schedule is fucking irresponsible and his editors/bosses need to get their shit together and adjust his workload so it makes fucking sense.
I could not agree anymore with this tbh. The live action shouldn't have happened until OP was over imo. Bad enough the story was butchered for Film Red, such an awful movie too on top of that.
Oda is too much of an addict, as you said control freak too and far too ambitious for his own good. Hes an absolute workaholic and he won't stop until he's forced to permanently unfortunately. Saw the same thing with my grandmother and I've got similar problems too. Like a train with no brakes basically.
Oda wants to do it all, to have it all. But you can't. Hes comprising the story for the sake of his other ambitions and when you try to have everything in life, you end up losing it all usually or ruining them at least.
Yeah same. All these 3 trailers have really improved my expectations for the LA and made me actually want to see it. I was gonna see the Cowboy Bebop LA until the trailer for that dropped though and also Faye's actress also went off like crazy in person/online at people lol.
Given what Oda is like, there's no way he's gonna let it be terrible, he's got way too much invested in this and to lose, its his lifes work, his magnum opus, his ultimate passion and so on. Hes far too meticulous to let it be a disaster. He mentioned that he made them do reshoots too, so hes definitely worked them to the bone too.

Title:Beach Bleach: Sole Society and the Dolphin Deception
Scene: A sunny coastal town with crystal-clear waters, where marine life meets spiritual adventure.
In the tranquil seaside village of Karibbeach, a charismatic and mysterious figure emerged, causing waves among the residents. This enigmatic being was none other than Aizen Sousole, a master of aquatic illusions and cunning tricks.
Aizen Sousole: (smirking) Oh, my dear Sole Society, prepare to be swept away by my dazzling aquatic arts.
Narrator: But lurking beneath the sparkling surface was a plot that would leave even the most seasoned beachgoers bewildered.
Aizen's Shikai, Koika Suigetsu, was no ordinary fish tale. With a flick of his dolphin-shaped blade, he could bend the reflections of the sea and sand, creating illusions that ensnared even the most vigilant Sole Society members.
Sole Society Member #1: (stumbling) Wait, where am I?
Sole Society Member #2: (rubbing his eyes) I could've sworn I was sipping coconut water just a moment ago.
As Aizen's illusions danced like sunlight on the water, he revealed his true intentions to his hypnotized victims.
Aizen Sousole: (whispering) Embrace the tide of deception, for you are now entrapped in the ocean of my plans.
Narrator: However, amidst the swirling currents of trickery, an unexpected savior emerged.
Enter Kujo Jotaro, a marine life enthusiast and notorious dolphin lover. With his trusty Stand, Starfish Crusader, he possessed the power to see through Aizen's aquatic illusions.
Kujo Jotaro: (frowning) You think you can fool me with your dolphin tricks? I've spent too much time with our marine friends to be deceived by your shenanigans!
Narrator: Jotaro's heart burned with a passion for the dolphins, and he vowed to become their champion in this watery battle.
Aizen's Bankai, the mighty Dolphinium Oceanstrike, summoned forth a tidal wave of energy, threatening to engulf everything in its watery wrath.
Aizen Sousole: (laughing maniacally) Witness the majesty of the dolphin's embrace!
Kujo Jotaro: (raising an eyebrow) You call that a dolphin move? Let me show you the true power of marine friendship!
With a resolute gesture, Starfish Crusader unleashed its ability - "Oceanic Harmony." The spirit of the sea creatures themselves surged forth, unraveling Aizen's illusions and overwhelming his Bankai.
Aizen Sousole: (shocked) No, this can't be!
Kujo Jotaro: (smirking) You may be a fish out of water, Aizen, but I've got the marine world on my side.
As Aizen's illusions shattered like fragile seashells, the Sole Society members were freed from their bewitched state. Aizen himself lay defeated, a salty reminder that even the grandest illusions can be washed away by the tides of truth.
Narrator: And so, the coastal town of Karibbeach was saved from Aizen's dolphin-themed deception, thanks to the unexpected heroism of Kujo Jotaro and his aquatic allies. With the sun setting over the azure waves, the Sole Society members returned to their beachy bliss, forever mindful of the dolphins' enduring wisdom, and with Jotaro as their newfound champion, the marine life thrived in harmony, a testament to the power of love and guardianship.

Btw the Will of D in One Piece is actually the Will of Dolphin! You heard it here first!
Aye I completely agree. Hes already missed out on so much of his marriage and his daughters growing up lol. But its his life, his choices too and thus his consequences.
I hope he survives to complete One Piece and see it end successfully hopefully too. Oda even seemed to hint at/imply awareness of his own mortality and especially limited time left on earth as he said in one of his most recent messages, where he said the live action is his last chance to get One Piece out to the wider world, given his "expected lifespan" too.
I really wish he would take things more seriously especially after what happened to Miura and now the author of the Yugioh series, although the latter died saving others lives from a disaster to be fair, literally died a hero.
