Kaguya wasn't foreshadow properly. Gear 5 was. Multiple time. And shadowed.. MULTIPLE TIME.

Nika is only the name of the transformation. So a late introduction of the name is perfectly fine. The ability itself was foreshadowed far earlier than that. Now tell me, when was Joy Boy first mentionned ?

If only it tackled the real issue with G5/Nika Nika, which is its completely out of the blue addition to the story it would be amazing.
Oda sure did a great job shadowing, foreshadowing, and preshadowing it by having the WG not give a rats ass about the fruit or Luffy himself until the moment he was fighting Kaido.

Gear 5 is the embodiment of freedom. Luffy is free to manipulate himself and his environment however he sees fit. For someone whose goal is to be Pirate King because he’s the most free, then gear 5 perfectly encapsulates that.
Also Oda established that Luffy was a goofy fighter early in the series. He even states that he wanted Luffy to have a ridiculous fruit because he wants his audience to laugh while seeing Luffy’s attacks.
All in all I enjoy the creativity that comes with gear 5.

Luffy didn't just transformed. It transformed into things that should not be possible. Secondly, his transformation ALL have traits of Gear 5 so yes, it was indeed shadowed wether you like it or not. Making Gear 5 a perfectly introduced transformation.
