I'm glad that G5, in Luffy's case, the awakening, happened against Kaido. During Dressrosa and even in the middle of the Wano arc, the majority thought it would be:

  • With Ryou, Luffy would defeat Kaido.
  • Luffy would split the skies with Shanks using Acoc.
  • Luffy would awaken against Blackbeard.
All the headcanon above happened against Kaido, and Kaido crushed them all.
