Exactly. Maybe if Luffy was fighting back or defending himself it wouldve been really impressive. But the reality is he's using Luffy as a training bag here and for someone who's whole fighting style revolves around kicks, you'd expect him to be able to deal damage (especially with named attacks) so it's nothing impressive.
However, let's swap Sanji with Zoro. If Luffy isn't dodging, applying CoA or fighting back, he would die from one named attack. Shishi SonSon, Sanzen Sekai etc. This doesn't mean Zoro is stronger than Luffy but it's easy to look the more impressive when your opponent isn't fighting back...

So storng, cracking the skull of his captain who went to hell in order to rescue him while he was defending using the Gandhi tekkai style. This is the most shameful moment for Sanji in the whole manga pretty much. Nakama Sanji is jsut a troll by Oda but this was his lowest and he had to atone the whole arc to come out of this.
Jesus fucking christ can Sanji never get any credit with you people? Fuck me why does it always have to be adversarial on this forum?
Sanji clearly dealt more damage to (albeit defenseless) Luffy in his melee than Doffy did. That's a great cross-comparative feat

This isn't about Doffy vs Sanji ffs
Sanji having greater AP doesn't mean he's stronger than Doffy. If it really hurts that fragile ego of yours that much at least take solace in the fact Doffy is still faster, has his awakening and much better durability. Don't worry. I'm not saying he's stronger than Zoro - now go cry at the realization that Sanji is a competent fighter
Plus this only goes to show how strong Vergo really was, rather than anything else

That is a way of looking at it but everybody, Sanji included, knew that that approach was useless adn luffy said it the next moment (you felt those kicks, I'm not gonna leave without you etc.). Anyway maybe you are right on the fact that was the only thing he could try but yet.. kicking the guy who has come through hell in order to save you, even if there was Zeff on the line. Don't know, maybe you are right. But kicking a defencelss Luffy after he come to save you no matter what but I can not accept that totally.
This is the thing i can't understand. Sanji was threaten by his family that his father figure and all of his friends in EB would DIE!!!, if Sanji would go against them and NOT following their Orders. Luffy appearing there would make the whole situation worse and there was nothing luffy would have been able to do, to help Sanji. And knowing the enemy's they were against, Luffy and co. staying there would put them in danger which could easily cost them their lifes.
The only thing Sanji could do at this point was to send Luffy and the others away from there and keep following the orders of his family to prevend anyone from getting killed.
Sanji told them to leave, Luffy didn't listen, so the only other option was to force them away.
What is shamefull about that?

Some people here would apparently rather let all of their friends and familiy members die, instead of trying to force their captain away to save not only his, but everybody else lifes...
