Very good chapter, the panels/art were on point too. Really fun/enjoyable to read.
Kizaru, Sentomaru, Saturn even the SHs and York had great characterisation here. I really liked Lilith being so worried about the other Punks and being so comforting/affectionate with Edison, it felt like Nami and Chopper, very wholesome and sweet.
I will never get tired of seeing Kizaru bouncing of walls like that too, love it so much. Seeing Garp doing his own version of that and either inspiring Kizaru to come up with that move or Kizaru inspiring Garp instead was HYPE too!
Saturn is just as ruthless and pragmatic as I hoped too. Like the implications hes not human either as I suspect the Gorosei and Imu aren't. Oda even implied it strongly lately ofc. But even if hes human hes definitely not "humane" at least.
Saturn is giving that much needed extra evil/villainy to this arc too. But Kizaru is still being a great antagonist although he doesnt feel like a "true villain" anymore, especially with this new info and characterisation by him.
Hes still gonna be an absolute menace, a relentless threat this arc but hes not overtly evil I mean, hes as nuanced as I was hoping him to be and I think we'll see a lot more of it too this arc as wel, this is gonna be Kizarus personal arc and develop his character a lot more as I've been dying/excited to see for the longest time now.
The Admirals are some of the most interesting characters in OP along with some of the other Marines and I can't wait to see where Oda goes with Kizaru. Theres a lot of nuance going on and I love it.
Im really happy to see Oda reference Elbaf and once again mention its gonna be next, that they're going there as Stella asked the SHs to take him there earlier this arc too. Luffys and Usopps reactions said it all, so nice to see them behaving that way like they used to a lot pre TS especially and being goofy together, singing that song together and such.
Seeing the Elbaf arc FINALLY happen like Wano after decades of waiting, even longer than waiting for Wano is gonna HIT different too!
Doberman seemed really shocked by Saturns comments and it gave him some nice subtle characterisation and humanity too. Wouldnt be surprised if he ends up betraying the WG alon with some other Marines inevitably, one of the Marines to split off and go rogue, cause a coup/civil war or w/e.
Its funny this song is playing for me right now as it feels strongly appropriate for Kizaru too:
