Hitler sought to ethnically cleanse Europe of people he saw as racially inferior. He hated Jews for existing and wouldn’t have stopped until they were all dead.

Yeah you can argue that the Allies weren’t innocent, but imo you can’t “both sides” World War ii. One side was demonstrably worse than the other.

The US drives me insane as a country I live in, but, yeah, they were way better than the German nazis. Japanese camps in the US weren't that bad, though still sad and wrong.

My point is China and Russia.

If you consider Russia and China to be on the Allies' side in WW2, they were both murdering their own citizens even harder than Hitler did. Mao and Stalin were just as crazy and evil as Hitler. Back then, the US still had some decent leadership.

That all ended when the US decided to pick up the remnants of nazi Germany and give them high scientific positions within the government.

And then the US decided to start blowing up the Middle East and dropping napalm on Vietnamese kids... hehhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

I feel like WW2 just broke humanity and that we've never recovered from all the fucked up things that happened during it

not really,nukes have decreased the frequencies of wars.War has always being a thing.
