Break Week If Robin keeps everything a secret why is she useful?

#21
If Oda wrote HxH, he would have offscreened Pitou killing Kite. And Killua knocking out Gon then he would create a panel of Netero's entourage reacting to the news of what Killua told them of what happened to Kite but not reveal it to us for another 100 chapters. Oda just can't write outside of mysteries. He hides behind mysteries and fans call it great writing. No reason why he has Robin keeping everything a secret 25 years later.

Wrong analogy, dude. Oda did show Ace's murder, which is on an even higher narrative level than Kite's.

He's made it a good business plan, gotta give it him.
No reason why he has Robin keeping everything a secret 25 years later.
100% agreed on that one.

The analogy I was showing wasn't about a death scene. It was analogy of how Oda writes. He hides behind mystery when there is no reason too, whereas other authors rarely use it. So many examples of Oda writing mystery just for the sake of writing mystery or that he doesn't know where the plot is headed so he makes it a mystery.

And you picked literally the wrong scene, since the narrative purposes both Kite's and Ace's deaths serve is the same, and both murders are shown on page.

I understand where you're coming from with the "create interest behind an event without or before showing such event", but your example was bad.

Eh.. Not really.
We know what the ancient weapons are, we know about Joyboy and Ryuma, we know how DFs were made and why the sea detests them, etc.
Really the only reason why the manga is dragged out is due to how popular it is and what not, Oda planned to end it in like 5 years before that, but now he's gotta make compromises.

I was obviously overexaggerating. My post wasn't to find the perfect analogy, my post was to highlight how Oda writes.

It's why most of your posts miss the mark so horribly. You always try to say X by saying Y.
You literally agreed with my main premise of how Oda overuses mysteries and yet you nitpick of me not using the perfect analogy. You know very well what the main point of my post is about and yet you try to find fault in it to discredit it. Typical response.

Had I tried to discredit its premise, I wouldn't have agreed with it. But you can't just use a photo of a monkey throwing shit to convey that monkeys are aggressive. You might be right, but for the wrong reasons.

Dude, I woke up like an hour ago, ate cereal, Logged into worstgen for five minutes, read this thread, tried to quickly think of something in HxH to be funny and showcase how Oda overuses mystery, quickly googled it and posted it. The main premise I already conveyed which is Oda hides behind mystery. Why yall have to nitpick when the main premise is already conveyed.

Dude, I only log here when I'm drunk. Yet I'm more coherent than 70% of your takes.

Because Oda isn't all that great in writing tbh.Hm His overarching story is good but several subplots etc drag onz kept secret to prolong things... It's just bad. His characters suck too most of the time, he had some good characters and has delivered but he mostly just fumbles.
