Them being used already and Kizaru having a flashback of at least a few pages would be amazing for us lol. Oda ain't going to humanize Borsalino if he's supposed to get clowned.
I lean the flashback hint being more about Kizaru than Sentoumaru because Oda already explained Sentoumaru past in the last SBS, which would not make much sense if he planned to do it a few months later in the manga.

I see Oda doing this. Now, the GIF may also be Luffy's PTSD Sabaody flashback when he sees Kizaru (3rd scenario). The guy in the GIF froze in shock the moment he tasted the meal, what if that's what Vegapank was going for?

Kizaru is a certified adv coa user. Coa is defense. He's not just light. Just cause fodder can touch him now doesn't mean they'll actually do any damage at all.

It's probably someone using the gloves to repel some stray beams or something.
