I can still sometimes enjoy serving but I switched from FoH to BoH most of a decade ago and still haven't really hit the goalpost. I'm hoping I can find something more managerial or analytical that doesn't require as much time on the floor but still possibly interacts with customers. Started out in FoH management and done a decent amount of administrative work over the years.
I hate BoH atm since none of the night shift folks do their side work >_<

Have you considered possibly hosting, or full on management?

You've plenty experience under your belt, you can probably talk to someone that's done administrative things as well, see if you can work out a deal

So you cant advertise games from any other forum but OLF in the advertisement thread? Seems rather limited.
Correct. The contentious issue is linking, because Worstgen as a matter of site policy prohibits linking to other sites. Posts that do not include a link could possibly be allowed, as the rules of use as outlined in the cross-site advertisement thread only explicitly forbid links. That said, for the time being, at least while it's in its infancy, I would err on the side of caution and only post advertisements for OLF games there.

If you have another site that you think would be a good partnership, I'd suggest reaching out to admins here, and on that site, to see if some sort of deal can be made. All being well, I can then update that thread to include more sites beyond just OLF.
That's why I said it's kinda meh. It's just a restricted ad-board. It will barely get traffic :/
As was explained to you at the time, the purpose isn't to receive heavy traffic. It's to work as a platform. It is, in effect, our end of the partnership deal with OLF.

I tried a bit. Currently most of what I'm looking at is industry-adjacent instead.

I used to poke people in Discord, but I know that's not everyone's cup of tea (and I'm a tired old fogey). For my current sign-up over on NovelUpdatesForum, which closes tomorrow (*wink wink*), I just reached out to people on Discord and ended up with a small handful.

Eh, we also advertise on Discord Servers. It‘s just that it barely makes a difference.

Yeah, I used to have a mental shortlist of regular players (and an even less rigorous longer list) and then I'd just message people directly on Discord, which was much more likely to be seen/considered. But it's not for everyone and building those lists tended to ruffle feathers.

We solve this by adding a role for Mafia players in general on Disc Servers and then just notifying the role. But most people who are playing check this site frequently anyway, so they already see the Sign Ups.

But I get that such lists can offend some people who maybe want to play, but are known to be inactives for example and such things can annoy hosts.

Hmmm... If I get two or more additional people, I can run one of the more exciting experimental setups in my scrapbook. I wonder if maybe extending the waiting game a bit more makes sense...

I was more thinking of people who didn't want to get notifications when the lists are being determined.
