What is Zoro's ultimate dream?

Was going to make this as a post in reply to somebody, but figured I'd make a thread and get other people's opinions on it as well. So the most common interpretation of Zoro's dream that the readers in general know is that he wants to become the greatest swordsman, and many translate that as his dream is to defeat Dracule Mihawk. I've said couple of times in smaller posts that Zoro's true dream is not simply limited to becoming the Greatest Swordsman aka defeating Dracule Mihawk.. it's an ambition that transcends Dracule. I want to discuss with this thread Zoro's true dream and it's evolution from just becoming Dracule 2.0.

Original Dream:

Zoro before becoming close with Kuina wanted to become the greatest sword master in the world. This is something that technically any person training in a martial art should be achieving for. But this is the first original dream he starts off with as he's training in the Dojo of the Shimotsuki.

1st Evolution:

The first evolution of Zoro's dream from just becoming the Greatest Swordsman in the world (what Dracule Mihawk is) to becoming the Greatest Swordsman EVER comes when Kuina reveals the potential disadvantages she would face as a woman, physically, when aiming to become the greatest swordsman in the world. And Zoro went above just becoming the greatest swordsman in the world to hype up Kuina even more and made a promise that they would one day fight for the title of the Greatest Swordsman Ever.

2nd Evolution:

The 2nd evolution of Zoro's dream takes place after Kuina's death. After being mad/angry/devastated by Kuina's death, he says that he's going to become such a great master swordsman that his name will be known EVEN in heaven. This is something that surpasses the greatest swordsman ever, something limited to the "world". This is his aiming for something so great that his name is even renowned in the heavens.

Conclusion:

1st step / initial goal - Greatest Swordsman in the World
2nd step / the higher goal - Greatest Swordsman Ever
Final step/ ultimate goal - A Great Master Swordsman Renowned In the Heavens

The reason I'm mentioning this is often people limit his dream to just surpassing Dracule, and this leads to false assumptions/conclusions about Roronoa's EoS potential. And I'm sorry to tell this to my fellow Dracule fans, but no Dracule is not the Greatest Swordsman ever and neither is he the great master swordsman renowned in the heavens. He could be if Oda decides to go with that when/if they actually fight, but right now Dracule is simply the 1st step Zoro's true goal. Just like "Pirate King" the title is only Luffy's goal because Luffy believes it symbolizes being the freest man in the world, if he finds out at Laughtale that the Pirate King isn't the freest because there's a dude that controls the whole damn world playing the admirals/yonko/etc like pawns in a chess game.. his goal of being the freest man shifts from being just the Pirate King to something bigger.

So Zoro can beat Dracule, and he will be the Greatest Swordsman in the World.. but that doesn't achieve him his other goals. That doesn't make him the greatest swordsman ever... it doesn't guarantee his name will be renowned in the heavens. You might say "Then how would he achieve those goals if not by beating Dracule?" .... Not a single clue, could involve the Gorosei or Imu or something else who knows, that's something Oda will have to set up and show us how Zoro's name will reach the heavens.

---------------

So yea leave your opinions and etc. Let me know if you agree or disagree.
Next thread will be on Luffy's ACTUAL Dream.

heaven thing. cause its the most obscure choice. I also do not agree with your interpretation.

Zoro want to be the WSS. that does not necessarily mean he will become the strongest swordsmen to ever have lived though.
there is no evolution. the dream remained the same.

Problem is there's nothing in the story that can prove a single thing Zoro or anyone does makes you the greatest ever

If swordsmen existed in the void century then what exactly shows Zoro is stronger than them?

And what the hell are the heavens in this situation? Mariejois?

You are advocating for Zoro's dream to be a mystery? The most clear cut dream among the strawhats now turns into a mystery

That's on Oda to write into the story, not for me to worry about mate. There's multiple ways to write the "greatest ever" situation that even I can think from the top of my head.

We as readers hardly have any information of the history of OP and the previous great swordsmen of the diff. eras, their feats and accomplishments, so on.

There are several ways Oda can make it clear that Zoro is the new ''sword god'' like Ryuma.

He can leave his 3 black swords permanently, he can cut something that no other swordsman was able to cut ... Something like that.

I don't think he will face anyone stronger than Mihawk lol, or else Oda would be having Kishimoto's syndrome
