liked the live action, it just au, to bad they couldn't do it like oda written faithfully. so many character arcs changed, and character arcs felt rushed. even some characters feel out of character. where manga it build up proper in character development (mostly rushed i felt on how they handled it) but 8 episode.....
like coby actor and helmeppo (though why they felt to show him naked with kuina sword, is netflix thing i see done, like jeez)
merry died, so they named the ship marry instead of following oda vision, it was not broken. so kaya can't even have her last person who she saw as family friend with her plus usopp pirates, 3 kids gone. made usopp arc felt rushed. also changed fight scene to kaya mansion.
love buggy, but i will miss he didn't get his whole pirate crew, also him chaining up the villagers seemed out of character and came of cringe. (though more buggy screen time was nice)
don krieg was shown, but only gin showed up at the baratie, what was the point of this plot!? they didn't even expand it instead we get arlon....they screwed sanji and zeff story i felt as felt more impact emotion from manga then the live action.
also nami buried the money by her mom tangerine grove, yet netflix changes to her moms grave.......................also the whole town clueless, but manga showed they observed and aware of her and supportive.
My fiancée (who has never read/watched/listened to me complain about OP) also really loved the show and pointed out something that separates it from other LA adaptations - all of the characters were not only competently portrayed by actors who looked AND behaved like their counterparts in the source material, but they’re all relative unknowns instead of established stars so we don’t have any preconceived notions about their performances. Maybe, just fucking maybe, this will teach producers and studios that celebrities aren’t the draw when it comes to turning anime into reality, but the characters they’re supposed to become…I won’t hold my breath, I’m just glad this was the one adaptation that got that part right
I just heard the dubs, you were right, they sound awful :( I don't think Ai dubbing should take over anime but at times like this I believe I would have even done a better job by replicating the voices with an AI dubbing service (i use dubbing services and this one i'm currently using works really well) well, it might sound harsh but it was so cringe to hear that it'd be better if some used voice cloning instead :( meh

It kinda looks like everyone in Reddit, rating sites and media journos are being paid by Netflix and co, everything in there just feel scripted. They're all posting the same thing.
Completely different than what it was 1+ weeks ago LOL
NGL as someone from latinoamerica I keep seeing this trend in USA.
When something has too much success or it is simply supported by plenty the calls are always "big X company paid them to say that".
... people undermine the size of the population....
Wanted to hate this show so bad, but I'm liking it too much.
I'm feeling all the emotions the director intended when I'm watching it.
I'm invested and charmed by the characters.
Costumes, sets, and effects are good.
