My mom inherited a couple of apartments and she still struggles with money.Being rich is not necessarily owning a couple of houses/apartments.

She just rents everything. But its not a lot of money.She get little money from her retirement pension and cost of living and medical care for elderly people is very expensive.So most of her money(like 70-80%) goes to paying her bills.So yeah,she is not rich by any means despite being a "landlord".
