From a narrative standpoint, if not only do the Straw Hats in their first venture as a Yonko crew lose but it's specifically to Kizaru and his allies that they lose to again, then what does that say about all the progress the SHs have made since Sabaody and Luffy's determination to surpass Kizaru, Sentomaru and Kuma?
Oda isn’t writing his story for the reader to powertrip on SHs yonko status
Have you forgotten the Marineford tragedy? Luffy literally went through hell only to be sent back to the gutters and lose everything he had. That was a great prelude to what awaits him in the New World.
As for Egghead, this is not about the pirate world anymore. This is joyboy facing the forces that trashed the original joyboy and his kingdom, its a different game. Being a yonko means jack when you’re up against both an Admiral and a primordial demon gorosei
The final saga starting with a major setback to remind the reader why the WG has ruled as the supreme entity for the last 800 years, that makes sense from a narrative standpoint.
Luffy can still prove himself superior to Kizaru individually but lose the war due to Saturn’s presence
And is Oda going to continue grouping Luffy with the failures that Kid and Law turned out to be in the final saga? Or will he do Luffy right by his Yonko title and assert his status here in Egghead?
Kidd was one shot like trash
Law was beaten casually by Teach
Can’t be compared to the forces Luffy is facing now
Kizaru
Saturn
Cp0
9 VAs
Pacifista
Seraphim
Something might occur that could qualify as the shocking event yet to come, that doesn't necessitate the Straw Hats losing or Saturn and co
True, I don’t think Luffy or Kizaru’s defeat would be a shocking event, and I don’t see Saturn losing in Gorosei’s first arc
