The issue is the VERY first yonko level punch he used on Kizaru sent him flying and made him think it was a bad situation.

Why wasn't Luffy using acoc the entire fight?

Garp’s hit on Kuzan looked way more impressive than anything thrown by Luffy or Kizaru. Going from feats both Garp and Kuzan>Luffy or Kizaru.
