Yuji is one of the best MC. He gets reality check whenever he thinks he can take on the opponent.
Cant hate on Yuji bruh. I kinda know why you are saying this. He always respected his seniors (asking Yuta to join the fight), he is not going to jump grades and over take a Special Grade sorcerer. But still Megumi said it is hard to keep up with him.
So, his growth rate is insane. Dont let Gojo and Yuta distract you from Yuji's story and background.

hes a good mc. although he is clearly destined to be the hero of the story, he is not portrayed as the center of the world, and in fact has to constantly struggle and deal with defeat, as the journey of the hero should be.
the fact that the character who was actually portrayed as perfect, the center of the world, lost to the antagonist only makes him a better protagonist narrative wise.
its not the authors fault that people have an obsession with idolizing extremely powerful characters, as if there were some merit in the strength of a fictional character.

he is a bad mc because people don't really care about him.
no one cares if the mc loses, gut lost multiple fight and the world revolved around the antagonist yet people still rooted for guts. but in jjk no one really cares about the mc people don't even know how the mc is going to defeat the main antagonist.
Gon in HxH did not defeat the main villain in the chimera arc yet the arc still revolved around gon and the antagonist yet they never met
