She could be the lookout or that one random other person on the straw hats or she could probably join the fleet
Aye a role is pretty vital at this point since all of the crew have one. All of which have been pretty vital to their characters.

Carrot as lookout is important as her mentor Pedro was experienced with it. We even see him jumping up to a high place and watching out for the dukes exactly like Carrot does. Not to mention the whole thing with the dawn of the world thing that the Straw Hats will do which Pedro wanted Carrot to witness.

It's also a role we've seen constantly throughout the series, even on the Sunny. Luffy even has a desired personality for a lookout which Carrot fits perfectly (when he said Robin wasn't excited enough to see an island).

It's a pretty important hurdle to jump over that a lot of recent nakama canidates have been lacking and fellas have to stretch to figure out a potential role for them.

Even Vivi you can comfortably say can be a diplomat role or whatever the pirate equivilant is cause pirates strike deals all the time. And Vivi showcases how important it is on Drum Island when the locals are blocking them from entering.
I can't believe I'm about to say this, but Rootbeer is right :suresure:

At no point were we in desperate need of a helmsman until Jinbei officially joined, that role was clearly made up on the spot.

And because of that, I feel as if anything is kinda fair game.
If it was still important there would be 1 or 2 foreshadowing of a role on Egghead unrelated to any specific character.. There should be foreshadowing of it in Egghead then..
You can say fuck the role and mention that Jimbei role is kinda pulled out of someone ass which it honestly is, but you still have to make up a hypothetical role for Bonney or anyone for that matter regardless of how foreshadowed or estabilished it is.

We can't just go, Nami- navigator, Ussop-snipper, Franky-shipwright, Bonney-..... random bitch that eats a lot
Last chapter, we had this beautiful piece of situational summary from Saturn “The coasts have been completely blockaded by our army… It would be something, to see you escape from such a hopeless situation. We shall see what fate has in store for you…”. Alone this indicates just how hopeless their situation currently is. And the SHP getting out of that situation will be one of the highlights of this arc. This also means that the SHP need to strategically plan their approach and deal with the situation. Who they now need, is someone, who is filling a post Jinbe had already mentioned, they were still lacking in chapter 979: “You folks are as lively as ever!! But when everyone is worked up about fighting, the key will be… … Having someone who can calmly observe the state of the battle!!”

And no – he did not mean himself, because I want to see at least one panel, in which he is doing so.

By the way, calmly observing the battle in itself would proof to be insufficient, if that was all, what the new crew member was to do. It would not lead to anything constructive. The person, who is observing the battle needs to use that information he gets from that observation to strategize to find the best solution for a delicate situation.

So, the last post on the Sunny is: Tactician.

And the foreshadowing is also very heavy:

We had multiple(!) characters, who had tried their luck with strategizing for the SHP. But every time someone did that, the SHP, kept destroying their plans altogether. Pauli in Enies Lobby (Luffy busted onto the island without regarding his plan), Bege (The SHP missed their cue), Kinemon (again the whole crew ignored his strategical approach), Law (plan didn’t go, like it was supposed to, and Zoro didn’t even like him).

And here is the good part: In Egghead the SHP are actually already following a strategical plan. It is not immediately noticeable, but look at what we currently can see and deduct from that:
  • Their communication amongst each other has immensely improved to a point, where it cannot be coincidental (Literally everyone is using Den-Den-Mushis).
  • Luffy told Kizaru in chapter 1094 that he actually has a task to do and that is to keep the admiral away from his friends and occupied.
  • Fact is, that not all of the SHP seem to aim to fight the navy outside, like we saw them doing in Wano, when all of them just headed without a plan to the front gate together and bursted into the liar. And you know how much of a coward Usopp is, if he knows he has to face an enemy – and an enemy with this force no less - we always see his fear taking over. However, look at Usopp’s behaviour in chapter 1094 now: We see his speaking bubble is mostly round, indicating his calm – and he focus’ on his task. He is not afraid to fight against the marines, who are waiting outside. No, he is as collected as he can be and is actually concentrating on his own task of transporting everything to a specific point. Nami and Chopper are also very calm and collected.
  • Nothing seems amiss, even if Usopp, Nami and Chopper know that Vegaforce is destroyed. If I were one of them, I would at least try to come up with another plan to flee. However, we do not see them even hyperventilating on how everything is lost now that Vegaforce is gone and so on... . The overall situation does not seem to feed their usual fear – and this alone should ring bells! (It actually brings me to the conclusion that their actual plan is not useing the Vegaforce to flee, but something else.)
  • Saturn tells the SHP in chapter 1095 that they are a well-coordinated crew (though this is to be taken with a grain of salt, since the translation here is inconsistent), implying their underlying strategical approach this time.
  • Even Franky screamed at Luffy that “We are countin’ on you, Luffy!!” – I wonder on what he is counting Luffy needs to do? That sentence alone implies a task that Luffy and Franky well know Luffy has to do and because of this, they do not need to convey to each other what that task is – hence the weird phrasing.

Fact is, Oda cannot convince me that the SHP are not following a clear plan right now as the last role on the SHP-ship is: Tactician. :blobevil:

No, you're just looking at the public Yamato club. The private one is super active every day. We've had to close multiple of them because they got too long, and we're probably going to have to replace the current one soon for the same reason.
What are you all talking about there, if Yamato is not even participating anymore in the current plotline? :choppawhat:

No bets! I just like Law :moonwalk:

If he has anything other than a doctor, I'd be fully on board for it :endthis:
he's a surgeon! that's a specific type of doctor :) Chopper is more like a generalist and specialist in viruses (and he should be as he most likely will be fighting the Doc from BBP), but Law is a surgeon of Death, mwahahaha

I'd also stan Law tbh, he fits fairly well and has nice chemistry with SHP. too bad he's a captain.

Sure. I'm in.

If neither of us are correct, it's a draw. No change. Yeah?
Of course.

I still have a note: The chosen profile pictures for both sides may not contain demeaning depictions or texts towards/of any person or character and are not allowed to have political implications, violence or sexualized content (e.g., Party X will win the election!; Luffy is “insert insult”; Women are citizen of second class; depiction of a naked people; etc.) – You know – the usual… .
