Here are Vegapunks dumb ass moments:

1. Creating the Seraphim without a way to superseded the Gorosei. He should have made a way for him to override all commands and lied to the Gorosei.

2. Creating separate consciousness without a way to control or override them in the event of an emergency. He should have known he was being betrayed.

3. Going to help Bonney when he can’t even fight. He’s the one being protected.

He is very engineer smart but yeah kinda a letdown when we had Queen, Judge and even Ceasar who proven they can actually fight. Could change if Vegapunk can summon an iron man suit though. Haha

Caesar spent millions of big mom's fortune and still failed to achieve proper giantification.

Judge created emotionless robots who were proven to be FODDER to the likes of oven, daifuku, etc.

Queen and caesar failed MISERABLY at creating DF copies, smiles are a JOKE and comoletely useless, not to mention queen's super plagues were neutralized by chopper within less than a hour...

Meanwhile vegapunk:

Successfully reproduced perfect copies of both paramecias and zoans, to the point where he created a PERFECT copy of Kaido's mythical zoan.

Created seraphims.

Created pacifistas.

Built entire egghead island.

Kairoseki ships technology.

The list goes on...

Vegapunk is by FAR the smartest and most inteligent character in OP so far.

Most of those "mistakes" only exist for the plot to go forward.

Yeah but could Vegepunk fight to the degree of ceasar or judge? No
He the smartest but the weakest fighter.. I was expecting him to be on par with the yonkos because he would of hide his badass toys to himself from the world government... like have a personal mecha suits that built to cover any weakness. For example if you read MHA, a suit like Iron Might or Iron man. But noo he is just an very smart old man.

He was probably forced not to put failsafes into the command gerarchy, I imagine some Paramecia user could see to that. About Mother Flame we don't know, as far as we know the power plant might just produce an energy source like a battery.
