Powers & Abilities Kid losing to Shanks is an integral part of his growth as a conqueror

A lot of people legitimately cannot understand this, choosing instead to believe that Kid’s loss somehow means he’s dead or irrelevant.

Rather, his loss is set up for him to make a huge come back later on. Why?

Because losses and near death experiences are an integral part in the development of conquerors haki, a unique skill Kid has that sets him apart from most other supernova.

let’s look shall we?
  • By repeatedly facing Kaido and losing, Luffy’s gained ACoC and subsequently became a sky splitter
  • Yamato similarly gained ACoC by getting beaten by Kaido multiple times
  • Zoro awakened CoC by being pushed to near death, having broken all his bones and then faced Kaido.
So yeah, Kid losing doesn’t mean “it’s over” for him. It’s literally a necessary step for haki awakening. As Rayleigh said, you can’t train CoC, it needs to grow with you. As Shanks said, by experiencing victory and defeat, a man becomes a man.

“buh buh Chinjao”

Kid surpassed Chinjao over the timeskip when he took an even bigger L than chinjao ever did, losing his arm to Beckman. If he rebounded from that, he’ll surely rebound from this.

There's honestly no reason for him to come back

Even if he somehow survived the red haired demon and his pet giants even if his crew somehow pulled him out of the water onto shore

He's without a ship
His crew is subpar strongest crewmate is killer and he isn't exactly a Power house himself
He lost all his poneglphys
And he's not a D or connected to anyone or anything important in the story

Law was spared the final blow because he's a D and he said towards the end of wano that he wants to find out the true meaning behind it so when law finds out we will

Kid has no such convictions he wanted to be pirate king and that's it

Even Bonney was recently set up to connect to end game activities via her connections to vegapunk, Saturn, Kuma and indirectly the revolutionary army

If Kid does come back for whatever reason it'll be one of two reasons imo

1. He decides to serve under Shanks for the sake of his crew remembering what happened to killer after he stood up to Kaido

2. He becomes another ally for luffy in the final war

Other than that the odds of him getting a power boost and/or coming back is pretty low

Kid isn't the main character boy. Where does Kid belong? He doesn't belong to the battle at Egghead, he isn't doing shit to Shanks, he isn't a hero, he is a villian who happened to be lucky to be at Wano and hence got to battle BM.
Kid has no role in the story. He doesn't have a role versus the GK's, he isn't holding a candle vs Gorosei. All he can do is ally with Luffy in the final war vs the Govt as a side character. Its over for Kid. He isn't Law with Ope ope that he'd be relevant.

Ofc kid will come back.
He is underestimated a lot.
His powers are op, he can take a beating as much as luffy and his physical strength is up there with luffy's.
The message was clear, he needs some haki upgrade, now i don't know if it's COC or coo/coa but he will definitely come back stronger.
Both him and law are needed when the big war will come.

What reason is there for kid to remain in the story? And what need is he for the final war?

How is different from Kidd losing to Kaido? Seems like a repeat of the Wano plot

Maybe Kid and Killer ally themselves with BB pirates to take down the snitch would be hilarious if he actually a role in his defeat to BB :fujilaugh:
