It's a huge L (loss) for Garp; the guy basically started being called something he never did. The story that Garp alone defeated and put an end to the evil crew of the Rocks Pirates is so crazy and fraudulent that even a donkey would laugh at you if you told them.

Garp and Coby, Law and Kidd, Buggy, Sabo and probably more. They stumble upon shit and suddenly they're heroes, legends, etc.

The worst part is that Kaido fans have been hearing for years that Kaido was a fraud from people who are fans of Garp. Kaido has never been proven to be a fraud, while Garp's greatest achievement is explicitly shown as a fraud by Oda.
See how the world turns.

1º - In the very chapter, it is shown as a fraud because Sengoku says that Garp received help from Roger.
2nd - Oda brought 123,123 people to the island to make the defeat of the Rocks Pirates more credible and to show that it wasn't just Garp and Roger alone.

And that is exactly why One Piece is 1100 chapters and 26 years. As an author, you should know when to cut out the unnecessary stuff. That is basic 101 writing. Oda needs to learn how to focus, combine characters and hop over detours. This chapter was 90% filler. Just a bunch of fanservice characters having filler dialogue.
