I don't hate Garp, just to be clear, but at this point, it's impossible to say that the "hero" part of Garp is true. It's false; he received undeserved credit for an achievement that not even in the best headcanon could a person imagine, like Garp single-handedly destroying all the Rocks Pirates. LMAO.

Nobody cares about the Marines, man. Big Mom is openly making calls with Kaido without worrying if the Navy is listening to their conversations and knowing where she's headed. Kaido almost goes to Marineford, which was at war with Yonko Whitebeard, and all the military might of the Navy was gathered there. Kaido used the Navy as his mess hall when he was young. Shiki literally went to the Marine HQ and destroyed it, ending up facing Garp and Sengoku while calling them useless trash who couldn't capture Roger.
