Why do you care about Ryokugyu having a black blade when he has an insane devil fruit that he might have awakened?
Because it matches the portrayal the other Admirals received in terms of their Haki showing.

Kuzan has a better Devil fruit than Ryokugyu, and Kuzan also attained prime Garp punching power.

Kizaru has a better Devil fruit than Ryokugyu, yet Kizaru also attained the world’s strongest defense.

Oda is establishing the Admirals as characters with busted Devil fruits who also seemingly hyper specialize in one particular Haki category/aspect, and Ryokugyu having a black blade fits perfectly into that.

Look like I said. If Oda says it’s not a black blade, that’s the end of it. But FuckUp animation is not deciding this issue for me lol.

Uncle Van

Bullets don't hurt. But Taxes do.
That sounds more like Akainu's view, necessary evil to uphold the law
Garp just straight up a retard
Garp is the same dude who:
-wanted to force Luffy and Ace to be Marines and got pissed when they became pirates
-thinks pirates deserve mercy but is proud of all the chaos Luffy and Ace causes as pirates(also harming Marines).
-is surprised and angry when they caught by Marines and put to death

Let's ignore for a second what Toei did.

Do you seriously believe that a guy who was shown to mainly fight with his devil fruit, would have a black blade, while nothing in the manga confirms it, when Shanks, the closest rival to the World's Strongest Swordsman doesn't have one?

Only 2 swords were confirmed to be black so far: Yoru and Shuusui.

At least have some respect for the Swordbros.
How is it disrespectful for amaraki to have a black blade :suresure:

You’re talking about the same animation studio that gave Saint Shanks two arms when Saint Shanks losing his arm is like, a core fucking theme of this manga lmfao

You realize there is a difference between:
1. Not painting a dark blade "black" in the official design of a character in anime
2. Doing a mere mistake by drawing the arm of Shanks ONCE in a random moment in the whole fucking anime

Who knows. Personally I don't give a shit because black blades are associated with the greatest of swordsmen. GB ain't even a swordman.
This too, how would he unlock a black blade when we literally have 0 panels of him using that shit?
Tbh, the anime even took the liberty of "solving" the mystery about Hawkins' phrase...and still did it wrong lol.

They even had to correct themselves after.
What phrase?
You’re talking about the same animation studio that gave Saint Shanks two arms when Saint Shanks losing his arm is like, a core fucking theme of this manga lmfao

This happened once, every other time they showed him with one arm*.
Now y'all are just nitpicking the slightest mistakes they made and comparing them to them animating the grand entrance of the new Admiral.

Double standards are the bread and butter of Admiral fans…but projection is also up there.

They were claiming that Ryokugyu's blade was black, so when you call them out on it with the anime they leap to saying that Toei animation is not canon and they do a lot of mistakes. They forget that all dark blades are not always black blades or that Oda himself does mistakes.

It’s like a form of insecurity, they're afraid that their own standards, behaviours and tactics will be turned on them.
