I have a theory that BlackBeard is trying to twist his fate and force it by mimicking certain attributes of past legends, but Buggy might inherit Rocks D. Xebec's will instead.

I looked up 1096. Seriously the crew doesn't seem to truly accept Xebec as their captain. It gives me strong Cross Guild vibes.
Buggy inherited Rocks D Xebec!

What do we see in God Valley when Rocks pirates arrive?
Strong pirates like WhiteBeard and Kaido and Big Meme, but none of them acknowledge their captain.
Doffy, Moria, Croc and Mihawk come closest to giving off Rocks pirate vibes.

BB is just a fraud that wants to copy and inherit Xebec. He thinks he can fool fate and force it to his will.
Who is BB's real father then? Well given the fact we are at EggHead, BB is more likely to be Ginny's and Kuma's son that never got the love he needed, that's why he ended up the way he did.
BB is a Buccaneer too.

The real yonko strength character in Cross Guild is Mihawk.

Buggy is not yonko level, he is the commander of Cross Guild.

Buggy is commander level like Zoro.

Wealth = Crocodile
Fame = Buggy
Power = Mihawk

My expectations are the following for the future.
- Egghead: Luffy defeats Saturn, Zoro defeats Kizaru, Sanji defeats Lucci
- After Egghead: Luffy gets 4.5b bounty (surpasses Shanks), Zoro gets 3b bounty, Sanji gets 2b bounty
- Elbaf: Luffy meets Shanks and gives him the SH back as Luffy has become a great pirate and surpassed him, he gets to meet his old friend.
- After Elbaf: Luffy vs Blackbeard
- Lodestar: Luffy vs Buggy gag fight, Zoro vs Mihawk fight where Zoro shows Mihawk he has surpassed him
- Laugh Tale: Luffy is called the Pirate King, Zoro is called the WSS
- Final war?

Buggy is perceived as their captain. History will write Buggy as the captain just how Xebec is captain of Rocks pirates

1096 Whitebeard complains about Xebec, acting as if he's not the captain. Then Shiki asks when did WB become the leader. It's like Cross Guild where there's an official leader but no clear actual leader.

My point is Buggy has the chance to grow and change like any character. It doesn't matter if he currently is accepted as captain or not by everyone, it's his destiny sort of to become leader of a strong pirate crew.

Luffy follows Roger footsteps. There's a chance we get Cross Guild vs SHP during one of the CD hunting games or similar.

Buggy with strong CoA would be very hard to hit defensively, Buggy with CoC coating is REALLY hard to hurt.

We've already seen Mihawk fight Buggy before, and Mihawk seemed interested in how Buggy survived. I think Buggy might learn Haki by being Mihawk's sword dummy for target practice, lol.

We know that Mihawk respects people who choose to work hard, and overcome their weakness. I think Mihawk might respect Buggy's declaration, and try to train him.

I've also considered that Mihawk refused to kill Buggy in Marineford because he knew Buggy was Shank's friend, and that Mihawk would have cut Buggy if he wanted to.

I mean, let's be honest. Mihawk could have killed Luffy, Buggy, and Vista if he wanted, he was just there to have fun, and doesn't really give a fuck about helping the World Government.

Mihawk's respect for Luffy is one of my favorite parts of his character, I hope they meet again soon.

We've already seen Mihawk fight Buggy before, and Mihawk seemed interested in how Buggy survived. I think Buggy might learn Haki by being Mihawk's sword dummy for target practice, lol.

Probably more like Garp training. Buggy keeps being pushed around until he becomes desperate enough to follow his dream, which the strongest motivator and power in One Piece.
