I think the Katakuri hype died because many of the things that made Kata special became commonplace.
1b bounty, CoC, Awakening, FS.
All this shit ended up becoming common in the series, we saw characters with 1b bounty greater than Kata's, characters with ACoC > basic CoC, better and more versatile Awakenings than Kata's.
Kata is just actual trash now.

Katakuri was portrayed as being one of the strongest during WCI but as time goes on, we see that there are other characters that are stronger than Katakuri.
The same thing is going to happen with Kaido, Kaido was portrayed as the strongest during Wano but as time goes, we are going to see characters that are stronger than Kaido.

I'll be the first one to admit sometimes I do get into these situations knowing full well how heated it's going to get. But this time it was rootbeer and this other guy looking for trouble. I'm trying to change damn it, but due to the numerous times I've gotten into arguments (especially in the politics thread) now I have a group of users that hate my guts and take every chance they get to snap at me.
