I was fine with it continuing, but Near and Mellow are trash.
Have L become a Shinigami and find a pacifist named Kuro (Japanese for dark), who's like, the total opposite of Light because of his pacifistic views that don't fit in with society. L finds a guy who wants to take down Kira, but do it without killing him, and tells Kuro that Light is Kira, which he knew, but could never prove. Kuro refused to use the Death Note on Light even as Light is about to write his name in his own Death Note, and dies revealing Light is Kira, causing Light to be killed.
Epilogue ends with Light becoming a Shinigami, and L tossing Light an apple, while Ryuk laughs maniacally.
L: "You were a good man, but a horrible God, Light. Welcome to the underworld. What will you choose to do, now?"
Series ends with Light dropping the Notebook in the human world as L looks on in sorrow. Last frame is Ryuk biting an apple and saying "Humans... are soooooo interesting..."
