you know, for as much as Hiro Mashima sexualizes all his female characters, he at least make them have a lot more impact in his stories than most shounen lmao

He unironically had excellent writing for Lucy, Juvia and especially Erza imo. Brandish too even and Layla. A lot of his female characters were actually enjoyable to read and see (for various reasons) and Wendy is a compelling, tragic, endearing character too. Eileen is an amazing queen with a really fucked up backstory and tragic storyline and one of the GODLIEST DESIGNS EVER TOO!

Mashima really loves women and it shows lol.
