So yeah since Bonneys currently 12, Luffy went off to see when she was 10 (probably about same time she did)

So currently in the flashback luffys somewhere between 13 and 17 depending on how long Kuma was king and how long it took for him to find Vegapunk.

@CoC: Color of Clowns pointed out that Punk Hazard was closed 4 years ago in story, so Bonney is 8 last chapter.

If the surgery takes a couple of years Kuma might be there for when Luffy leaves

I love how nobody seems to have any legit idea why Kuma went to the village.

Only connection is Dragon in some way but there is basically nothing to truly go on.

So yeah it may be post logetown luffy, or Kuma is there to see Luffy leave Windmill village

it was legit, the polar bear being in Texas is hinting at a bear (Kuma) being out place (in foosha village)

Vegapunk is on egghead and we know 4 years ago in the current timeline the punk hazard lab was destroyed. Which means the flashback is time wise is 2 years before the story started

So Kuma went to Foosha Village in search of Nika fruit? But based on... What?

It's basically the Worstgen way of saying "I don't like this character so I'm going to pretend like they don't matter".

but kuma is not relevant to the story. he's only relevant to the nika retcon

Flashback is really interesting and long overdue but it should have been placed better, for example when Bonney finds that memory bubble. But I guess the impact would not be the same.

Still, I want to see some things in the flashback (all in one chapter)
- Why Kuma is in this village
- One final reason to hate Saturn so he can smash him after FB
- How Kuma protects Sunny
- One final conversation with Dragon
- Bonneys time during government captivity and how she got the DF

Interesting idea: What if Kuma removes Saturns memories to be studied by Vegapunk and teleports him to Dragons place, making him a hostage
