Tbf she's 11 and her breaking her neck on the stairs or what not does make some sense
But she probably suicided or something and that was a cover story, after all I recall her body looking a tad bit too intact for someone that just fell down the stairs and cracked her neck.

The thing is, is she was overpowering Kid Zoro, who was squatting boulders.... She was definitely not an average 11 year old in terms of body composition. If her body could withstand the shockwaves of clashing with someone that strong, falling down a flight of stairs should cause less than negligible damage.
