I will never forgive Oda

Watch Oda connect Nami's real mom to the WG and have everyone scream what a genius he is and how well written Nami is as a character.
:saden:
Her real mom was actually Linlin the entire time.
I give up on ussop when I saw how cool van argur is.
The fight isn't that far away I can't picture how ussop wins.
Gags. Or someone stronger steps in.

The issue with this flashback is that it hasn't had an emotional payoff since the tragedy of Kuma's parents and Ginny, which didn't hit as hard as they should've with Oda dedicating but a few panels to them, so it's basically just been exposition/worldbuilding and setup for like 4 or 5 chapters in a row now.

The one potential big emotional payoff from it, Kuma's final sacrifice and death, is bound to happen in the present so any remaining flashback feels like it's just housekeeping at this point :kayneshrug:

???

Kuma's parents weren't ever the initial emotional moment.

It was him escaping God Valley

then Ginny's death

then the bonney sickness

then him sacrificing himself for Bonney's cure

Idunno how you could read this flashback and think the last major emotional beat was the stuff with Ginney.

This is an edit to Part 41 based on latest information I just received.)

Upon knowing the whole history as well as hearing the final recordings of Dyras, the Roger crew all cried. There was 0 laughter unlike what was recorded in Oden's Logbook.

The first part of the final page of Oden's Logbook contains the following words:

"We set foot on the final island that lies beneath the sea thousands of feet below. But alas we were too early and the King's Keys are not yet ready. We were not able to proceed further."

The Roger's Crew left the island of "Laugh" Tale without knowing what the One Piece actually is.

Oda is fucking insane, dude foreshadowed a major plot point through a funny oden moment.

Every time that oden talked about the roger crew laughing, they were actually crying.
