The issue with this flashback is that it hasn't had an emotional payoff since the tragedy of Kuma's parents and Ginny, which didn't hit as hard as they should've with Oda dedicating but a few panels to them, so it's basically just been exposition/worldbuilding and setup for like 4 or 5 chapters in a row now.
The one potential big emotional payoff from it, Kuma's final sacrifice and death, is bound to happen in the present so any remaining flashback feels like it's just housekeeping at this point
