I made my judgement off the engagement of the spoiler threads
The length is what has made this flashback unbearable
I guess there are multiple ways to look at it
If you look at how many people are Kuma fans after the flashback even on Worstgen (which I consider the most critical gathering of One Piece fans on the internet) then I would say it did pretty well
If you look at engagement in the thread then you could argue it went poorly
I don't really agree with that though. You have to account for one thing that was missing from the flashback
Things that could be used for powerscaling agenda
There's no "Shanks is >>> the verse" or "Admirals >>> Yonko" material that can be used
It's just a normal flashback
Kuma was much better character for me before this flashback.
3 panels were more than enough explain this drama.
really didn't had to go this deep into a side character.
People are bored and angry , they don't read one piece for Kuma and nika dance.
Dunno if I agree with that
The reception was mostly positive pretty much everywhere
