A potential alliance between shanks and buggy has the opportunity to give them each amazing moments against extremely relevant characters
- Luffy vs shanks: it’s obvious. Shanks is basically roger 2.0 and was likely initially supposed to be his successor. On top of that he’s the guy that inspired luffy’s journey as a pirate, bet on luffy giving up his arm and hat for him, brought the gomu/nika fruit to fuusha, and is the pirate luffy wants to surpass the most
- Sanji vs beckman: both chain smoking, lady loving, smart guys from the east blue. Plus in my controversial opinion Sanji parallels partner characters like killer, beckman, and Rayleigh. So when luffy is at their captains level or surpasses them it’ll be the same for sanji
- Usopp vs buggy: they both represent the drive to achieve “fame”. Plus they both have funny noses, strong willed cowards, best friends of the strawhat guys, and keep succeeding and rising to fame accidentally through sheer luck and charisma. Usopp beating him will also boost his bounty a ridiculous amount. Usopp on top of that has the highest chance of making his own crew if the strawhats ever separates
- Zoro vs mihawk: they both represent the drive to achieve “strength”. Also it’s just obvious. Mihawk is the wss and zoro wants to beat him to become the wss. The reasons aren’t that complicated tbh
- Nami vs crocodile: they both represent the drive to achieve “wealth”. Money isn’t either of their end all be all since they want to achieve more than being rich but it’s still an important part of both. Both can affect the weather, the brains of the original 5, and is the one literally leading them as the navigator. Plus crocodile might’ve originally been a woman so if he turns back for some reason it makes the matchup even more inevitable.
