sanji is a bad icon for men because hes also extremely misogynistic and perverted.

lots of lesbians adopt toxic masculinity and sanji could have easily been a dyke/butch woman who viewed OTHER women in the same way as current male sanji while still holding herself to a different standard as an 'outsider woman' or somethin'/double standardarinomarino. also, women being perverted towards woman is still creepy, so that part of sanji would still fit lawlxdbacon.

i barely read any of what you wrote before making this, but i am writing another comment to more directly address the points youve made. that being said, i still prefer that sanji is a guy (although theres a LOT that id like to change), and would instead have liked if zoro was a woman especially since she would actually be able to prove kuina wrong and the two could have shared the dream of becoming the world's strongest swords"man" as girls which zoro would be able to carry on after the attack of down d. stairs sent kuina tumbling down to a hell where those who have fallen cannot get up. it would be more compelling imo, and couldve been explored at least a little in wano or something. fem!zoro could become a role model/legend for girls in wano who want to become warriors/samurais, and could help change the culture of the country for the better. ok ok ill stop rambling.

I think remaking One Piece with Sanji as a lesbian female character would work very well.
Brook and Sanji overlap too much.
Transition Sanji through Ivankov's magic would be really good because Sanji is constantly simping over women so he should learn what it's like to be a women.
Can we petition Oda to transition Sanji into a women?
No.
Woke shows can stay in Netflix and Disney and tank there. No need to infect Shonen

I posted this on Reddit, but I figured it should go here too.

Genderbending Sanji into a girl just does not work no matter what angle you take. Because as a friend of mine pointed out, Sanji's whole character is based on being a man.

1. If you make him a girl you have to also change Zeff, because Zeff won't employ or fight girls. While he may still adopt Sanji, he isn't going to teach him to fight if he's a girl, and won't employ him as he kicks his employees. So you either have to get rid of Zeff's chivalry (which you have to do anyway because there is no reverse form of it) and/or make Zeff a woman as well.

2. Germa, the Vinsmoke brothers were monozygotic quadruplets. While you could change them into multizygotic quadruplets, the expectations for Sanji vs his brothers changes. While Reiju was also modified, she wasn't outcasted for soft traits, because she was a girl and expected to have those. She still became a general like the rest, but from what we were shown Judge was not as hard on her. So therefore he probably wouldn't be locking a girl Sanji up in a dungeon, even if he thought he was a failure.

Now you could make Germa a Matriarchy, and Judge a Queen, but then the whole Sora thing gets dropped because even if Sora got turned into a man, the stopping the modifications plot is then trashed since a female Judge would be the one giving birth.

3. You can't trans him, because he completely rejected that in canon. And if you trans him as a kid before all that, he once more would not be trained by Zeff.
If you trans him, and make Zeff a woman, you still lose the chivalry and a third of Sanji's character.

4. Any route you take you lose Oda's message of 'Sanji is an icon for boys to know it's alright to cry, be soft, have fashion, etc without being reduced to being feminine for such things,' you lose the romantic side of him because he wouldn't have put women on a pedestal from childhood or Zeff, you lose the overly short-tempered thug side of him to men, he'd just be a reverse-Nami then going off on Women. You definitely lose the gag, even the lesser form of it, because most men would be fine being fawned over by women. You lose what makes him, him in various reactions with the other side characters.

Like, any way you try to rewrite Sanji into a girl loses half of his character and personality and writing, as his entire story arc relies on him being a man, Oda wrote him around being a man, and his backstory and personality ticks reflect this. Trying to make him anything but, changes his character and loses what makes everyone love him, turning him into another generic cookie-cutter metrosexual anime boy Twitter seems to love to copy paste the personalities of, or even worse an OC that only reflects the fan writing him rather than the character Oda made that everyone fell in love with.

Sanji changed, would not be the popular Sanji everyone knows and loves, as the reason he is so well balanced with the best writing is specifically all those things you want to ditch.

A trans friend on Discord of mine even had this to say (with his more erm non-appropriate language censored):

Thanks for reading on why Sanji was written to be a man, and revolves around being a man.
Sanji literally wants to be a woman and says the dream is dead when law puts him back in his own body.

He's a simp, he put the dress on, he feels uncomfortable in his own body, he only gets along with his mom and sister,

I don't think you have to petition, I'm pretty sure oda will do this at the end. Nami will also end up with Tashigi

Sanji:
  1. Was harassed, chased, and jumped and spent 2 years fighting to stay a man as part of his challenge.
  2. Learned to fly to escape them.
  3. Created an attack from the PTSD of that 2 years.
  4. Calls it Hell every single time.
  5. Refused blood from them in anime filler.
  6. Made worse in anime filler where they didn't just jump and force him but literally brainwashed him as he says he was 'losing himself.'
Sanji doesn't want it. Take a hint.
He put the dress on in the end. Filler is filler.

Actually it does mean that. Teaching self defense unless he's literally just going to sit and watch (which helps no one) means he has to practice with a female Sanji. It also means he has to approve of a female Sanji fighting. The way canon Sanji has interpreted Zeff's form of chivalry has shown that Zeff is VERY old fashion not just your grandparents old fashion. I was being generous in saying he'd even adopt a female Sanji. He probably wouldn't. Sanji proved himself by attacking Zeff, Zeff wouldn't have kicked him for it, thus he wouldn't have crawled, bit him and professed his dream. Zeff would have just ignored a female child Sanji and his crew toss 'her' out to the rest of the Orbit's crew. Giving nowhere for Sanji to even mention 'her' dream.

In that scenario if they did somehow make it to the rock and survive, he's the type to just become over protective and not let a female Sanji fight. May teach her cooking, but not employ her as he literally stated to canon Sanji he does not employ girls. Changing Sanji to girl would be changing all of Zeff's own values.

And no, changing chivalry doesn't work. Chivalry was a code of honor for men to treat women. There is no reverse form and no womens version for other women because women are already expected to treat other women nicely. There's just no point at that point.

A girl is expected to show care an emotion, even Reiju showed it around her mother, and despite being strict Judge never had it beat out of her. He may be disappointed in a Female Sanji showing care and emotion but it won't escalate to a dungeon and disownment.

That would be forcing a character into something they don't want. This was written in the sense where people make Sanji a girl and try to keep everything in his story. His story made it clear he doesn't want it. Changing him to want it, ditches his personality.

We already get that in Nami. You don't need to take Sanji away from the boys just to give the girls another icon and to please fetishists.

Considering you replied this to my last point. You're basically saying you think changes that validate harassing and forcing people into things would be an interesting change. -- So we're done, I'm no longer replying to you after this post.

Let me put it this way.

If a character was raped (let's say Ginny) would you suddenly say the character is in denial and actually wanted it, or give her time and she'd want it?

No?

That's the same thing you're saying by saying Sanji who was Harassed, Chased, Jumped, Forced, and Anime Brainwashed is just in denial or given time will change to want it.

That's sick bro.
He wasn't actually forced in the manga.

Why would nami randomly end up with tashigi?

Why would nami randomly end up with tashigi?
Because Tashigi is one of the only people Nami has ever shown attraction to lol. She never flirts with a guy unless it's to rob them but she blushes looking at Tashigi and says "I have a weakness for powerful stares by lady sailors."

She also wants a secretary like Kalifa because she's so sexy.

No he doesn't. The dream is to take photos while he has the chance for that stuff you boys call jack off material clearly. That has nothing to do about wanting to be a girl or he wouldn't have cared about it before that. People that think he wanted to be a girl are dumb, it was just about Nami.

And no, he didn't put on the dress willingly or did you ignore the nets and chasing?

The clear "never again."
You need to ignore the anime. There was chasing and asking, nobody forced him to put on the dress in the manga. That was just sanji accepting that side of himself. And I don't believe it was just Nami, i think it was that he wanted to be a woman.

Her weakness for lady sailors was a reference to her mother who was a lady sailor lol.
People really misinterpret that line

Yeah cuz shes reminiscing about her mama.
Its weird that people take a line about her mother and make it sexual tbh
It's weird to talk about having a weakness to powerful stares from lady sailors while blushing and gazing at the horizon and mean your mom. Talking about your mom like Boa Hancock talks about Luffy is weird. I think she probably meant Tashigi.

Yeah almost like she had to face the stare of a lady sailor since she was a child.
But hey you do you

So you think the scene where Nami is blushing and looking at the horizon while smiling and talking about Tashigis eyes is because she was intimidated by Bellemere?
Intimidated? I never said that i said she is reminiscing about her mother the good memories hence the smile on her face.
In fact the whole thing was about a lady sailor being motherly.
Tashigi taking care of children

True. Sanji whole's character is basically a criticism on toxic masculinity, altough Oda probably didnt even think about it,it just came genuinely to him, while writing the character. This is a writing respectful of social and gender issue without being too much lecturing and "woke" like Hollywood does. Well done Oda!
