my theory has been storage, Sukuna can store CTs outside of Cleave and Dismantle.
Given we’ve only seen him use open once against Jogo should be one time use for the CT he’s stolen, I think he’s more fascinated with higuruma now cause confiscation is similar to his storage in one way or another.
I don’t think it’s the charging, I think world slash just dilutes more out of his tank than anything else 2-3x higher than a domain expansion does.
given he knows all the students and has knowledge on everyone who he’s possibly fighting he doesn’t want to risk himself being depleted again like he was after fighting GoatJo.
especially with the executioner blade that attacks the souls directly so one wrong step can mean his life. just like he said major blade could’ve killed him if he was actually a CS, higuruma blade doesn’t discriminate.

outside of Sukuna and Yoru the rest haven’t been impressive.
Ryu and Uro lost to Yuta who wasn’t trying to kill them but having them submit to gain their points. Kashimo got edged out by Hakari who’s still a student and has the potential to match and surpass Goatjo alongside Yuta, while Kashimo was said to be strongest of his era the dude got absolutely shit on by Sukuna, Goatjo would easily destroy him even Hakari knew he wasn’t shit in trying to fight Sukuna, now we have him matching Uraume without even having his domain or jackpot being released nor is he actually using his CT but has the fastest know RCT in the entire verse…
Yuki has possibly one the most overpowered techniques in the entire verse only lost to Kenjaku cause she followed someone else’s plan and things would’ve turned out different if she actually released her domain as even Kenjaku noted it and she held back when she released her black hole.
Toji was strong enough to one shot Geto the second strongest in the current era… saw how he easily bodied SGC without even having a mind of his own.
