Their respective arcs only. The only exception:
  • Mr. 5 & Ms. Valentine in Little Garden (if you count them)
  • Magellan's offscreen defeat in Marineford (the arc)
  • Big Mom's defeat in Wano
For right now, I'll go with Crocodile, Eneru, Lucci, Katakuri, and Kaido.

We only know that Croc had it the worst.

Post-Crocodile Luffy and post-Lucci Luffy have a gap wider than my uncle's ass. And now Croc is supposed to be top Commander level?

I am talking about panels and drawings, and Enel just gets shit on.
Then it's close but Arlong stomped on the ground like the fish he is.
Lucci almost there, but he is the one that pushed Luffy to the most dire extremes.
Wapol flies into the sky but he is irrelevant.

Btw votes are Ener, Lucci, Arlong, wapol amd doffyz but i wanted to only vote the first three.

Also would like to point out how powerless bajrung gun felt compared even to the uppercut and kick deflection Luffy used when fighting with Kaido.

Special mention, the CD in the slave house that gets punched.

My votes are for Arlong, Crocodile, Enel, Rob Lucci and Gecko Moria.

I was almost tempted to vote Doffy over Moria but then I remembered all the stupid time wasting with irrelevant gladiators that happened just before Doffy was finished. That ruined the buildup of the final knockout for me, so Moria it is for my 5th vote. :pepedoffy:
Good point. Imma vote Enel instead of Doffy :myman:

Doffy's defeat was just another lame uninspired "big punch lol" like Kaido...

Enel's defeat was far better because Luffy INSISTED on ringing the bell with him, which resolved all the Skypiea plot points in one go (Noland and Calgara's promise, Cricket being proven right, etc...)

not to mention, the pre timeskip art was far better...

Best defeat? Hard to say. Gatling attack on Lucci was pretty satisfying to watch on anime. KKG also had better impact than BG imo.

Lucci > Doffy > Kaido > Croc > Enel in that order

Man Skypiea is such a goated arc.
Not really underrated anymore but it's one of the best imo

It also had one of Luffy’s best lines: “Oi, shadow! If you want to become Pirate King, then come to me.”

Oda was at the top of his game with those pre-time skip finishes. A lot of the post skip ones are basically just poorer versions of them.

I'm surprised Eneru is so high. I thought that he was a worse Crocodile.

IMO Arlong was the best. The fight was good and the build-up was solid too because of the connection with Nami.
Arlong Park is probably the best example of peak Oda writing.

I didn't like Lucci because that was the start of the power creep, Gear 1 = Kaio-ken.
fight-wise Dofi was basically a better Lucci but plot-wise he was worse.

They still had some nice thematics. Luffy rocked Doflamingo in the sky where the latter reigned supreme, and on top of that, exposed his underground operations. Luffy beat Kaido in the midst of the residents wishing they could at least not starve and live another year with the understandable and hopeless notion that Wano stays a North Korean hellhole.
