Hot take but I still believe Houken might be able to kill Moubu or Kanmei in a 1v1. I think he beats Man'U too.

The skill and speed difference shouldn't amount to zero. I mean folks here think Kyoukai can slay Moubu or Kanmei in close combat which is an actually ridiculous take lol and Houken crushed her like a bug.
Houken is pretty damn strong, weight can only go so far against him. Duke Hyou, whom according to his soldiers is someone only a handful can match in a duel, a general with hefty weight and a long service record, was straight up fodderized by Houken lol
He will forever be in the big boys league, just because Ouki mauled him at a low diff doesn’t mean any general can do so too. Man literally reached the much wanked 3GH rank solely due to his martial prowess lmao

Everyone here holds him at such high regard I went back re-reading the fight but I'm still not sure about his PL lol
A lot of the reason he probably gets rated so highly is because of his stat, because that's the only reason I can think why obvious debates like Man'U vs Gaimou exist.

I think he's a top tier but on the lower end. The fact he's probably an arc opponent for Great General Shin makes me rate him highly/

Lazy is the way
SBS is just hideous. The ugliest mfer in the manga. You’d have to go back to the Sei Kyou Rebellion to find an uglier mfer in Ketsu Shi.
I was too a bit disappointed by his face at first but now it’s okay, I like his I don’t give a fuck face

and at least he doesn’t look too much like Riboku
Post automatically merged:

Man U will come back even stronger you will see

Man U with fire inside will be a monster (he already kinda is)

‘and Houken is still a fucking monster : you need peak martial might + huge weight to beat the guy

manu kanmei mobu those 3 on same lvl
don't get hyped about sbs , he still didn't face any strong general.
but seems he will be with those 3.
.........
hoken i prefer to pretend he doesn't exist.

Almost every take involving Houken is a hot take regardless of the opinion. He is nearly impossible to scale lol.

Alright, I will give you guys the absolute fattest of my hot takes, a take so fat that I just bought it a treadmill and signed it up for weight watchers. I have consumed the most potent of Lee Hung drugs to bring you all the hottest of takes. Are you fucking ready for this shit?

Houken would single-handedly defeat the entire Kanki army. Yes you read that correctly. Assuming Houken has the food and water required to survive a drawn out battle, he is defeating the Kanki army.

Now that’s not to say Houken would single-handedly slay all eighty thousand of Kanki’s bandits single handedly, although given enough time he probably could,

But that is to say that if all 80,000 of Kanki’s bandits gang up on Houken alone at the same time, Houken would systematically dominate them so severely that Kanki’s untrained army of disloyal hooligans would retreat by the tens of thousands until not enough of them remain to protect Kanki from Houken. So let’s take a look at this situation.

So how would Kanki actually attempt to slay Houken?

Attempt #1: Throwing dozens of men at Houken all at once

You would think this would be an easy task right? Just continuously overwhelm him with numbers. However, Houken is the one character in this manga who is undoubtedly the best at engaging huge numbers of enemies, especially when he’s on foot. When Kyou and Kanou bombarded Houken with dozens of archers at the same time, he repelled every single arrow and killed all of his attackers. When Gekishin’s monstrous Quanrong cavalry all charged him at once, he killed all of them with complete ease. When the Hi Shin Unit at Shukai Plains all charged him, again, he killed them all without taking an injury.

The likes of Ouki or Moubu can’t come out unscathed from a dozen arrows flying at them at once, but Houken can. He is the Bushin, he is the best at the manga when it comes to fighting multiple foes at once and not being injured while doing so. And as the Bushin, he possesses not only an enormous amount of stamina but also Kyoukai’s bullshit breathing technique but an infinite version of that.

Now let’s look at the reverse side of things: how will Kanki’s men react to seeing such an overwhelming display of martial dominance by Houken?

They will shit their fucking pants and run. Kanki’s army is more famous for doing this than any other army in Kingdom.

Attempt #1: Failure

Attempt #2: Overwhelming Houken through sheer martial might

Let us now go through an extensive list of the individuals within Kanki’s army that can hope to pose a martial threat to Houken:

1. Zenou
2. Shuma
3. Kanki(?)

These three represent probably the martial pinnacle of the Kanki army. So let’s explain why all three of them lose to Houken:

1. Zenou

Zenou is the very definition of a mindless brute that someone like Houken is destined to defeat with ease. In fact the very same immediate realization of superiority that Houken had over Bayou Moubu, I’m pretty sure he would have that over Zenou as well.

You see while I’m sure Zenou has greater brute strength than Houken, Houken should have every other conceivable advantage over Zenou including speed, agility, technique, infinite Shiyuu bullshit, etc..

And while I’m not opposed to Zenou being able to kill Houken via raw power, the fact of the matter is that unless Houken chooses to engage with Zenou’s brute power in a contest of strength, the myriad of options Houken has to slay someone like Zenou means this should be a pretty clear victory for Houken.

2. Shuma

No

3. Kanki

So the only reason I’m bringing Kanki up is that it’s very likely that Kanki had developed his own weight and people like to use weight against Houken.

And while weight can allow inferior fighters to overcome superior fighters who have no weight, Kanki ain’t that guy. Duke Hyou and Kyou, both superior fighters to Kanki, both had weight and still effectively got mid diffed by Houken. In fact I would probably say either of these two mid diff Kanki 1v1 and Houken rolled them both.

Attempt #2: Failure

Attempt #3: Guerilla warfare

So Kanki’s trademark style of warfare that allows him to heavily upset more traditional commanders like Kochou or Riboku would be less than useless against Houken. I mean what is Kanki going to do?

Kill or maim fodder and hope Houken gets demoralized? Okay, good luck, I’m pretty sure Houken could give less of a shit if Kanki starts killing fodder.

Retreat into the forests and attempt to disappear from Houken utilizing terrain? Yeah, here’s the thing about that: Kanki merely adopted the forests. Houken was born in them. Molded by them. Houken didn’t see the plains until he was already a man and by then it was too late. If Kanki attempts to disappear into the forests in an attempt to outplay Houken, Houken will literally break Kanki’s back and stick him in an Albanian prison while he captures Gotham City.

What was I talking about…oh yeah,

Impersonate enemy officers and use them to communicate with Houken? Mkay, Houken will kill them too lmfao.

Not a single guerilla tactic Kanki has shown would allow him to defeat Houken with one possible exception but we’ll get to that later.

Attempt #3: Failure

So how would Kanki actually beat Houken? I can see only two possible options:

1. Surround the forest Houken is currently inside and burn the entire thing to the ground, praying that Houken dies in the process

2. Have your men play dead as Houken is slaughtering them, and then have the men who are playing dead attack Houken while he is distracted like Kozen did at Shukai Plains.

Other than these two strategies, Houken is about to mangle Kanki singlehandedly!

Oh shiit

Houken is so retardedly broken that smth like this can be done, if not for the existance of this behemoth that is

If Houken is engaged with some decent troops like Raido and Shuma clans, then gets ambushed by the Zenou clan, he's getting trampled the same way Riboku thought Bananji -and his army- would get flattened in north Zhao

Houken: "Just... what are you?"
Zenou:
:finally:

Do i think that for 90% of commanders including Kanki there is a good chance that Houken could go to their camp, take their head and leave unscathed? Yes. But i don't think the Kanki army is as hopeless as you make it seem lol
Zenou clan led by Zenou + Shuma clan + Raido etc.. should be able to do something

Why ? Man U has great portrayal
In an obvious set up for plot against a notoriously slow starter with a history of mental weakness.

I was being hyperbolic but this Man’U hype is utterly ridiculous. The man got in Mou Bu’s head early and it paid dividends.

Gai Mou is a beast cut from an entirely different cloth. He is a bigger, stronger version of Duke Hyou that craves war and violence. Ain’t no mentally compromising that man like that. He was an absolute monster fresh out of prison, and he no doubt has a truth in him that Shin will open his eyes to and make him stronger for it (in their rematch).

Man’U doesn’t crack the top 5.

There's nothing factual about your post

Man'U not being top 5 is an absolutely ludicrous statement, and I'm not even going to start on the Gaimou wank lol
This how I know I'm arguing with a dimwit that gets lost reading a story told through pictures.

Mou Bu being mentally susceptible has been known since Bayou. His tendency to start slow since the Coalition.

In every arc he's had a prominent role in, it's been one or the other, or both.
