Holy Fuck, Rebel Moon is so bad, even Kuma's flashback has a better writing than that trash
Snyder is so fucking bad as a writer.
Which sucks since I really wanted that movie to be good, but it was no use intoxicating myself with hopium. Snyder has no talent as a writer and it keeps showing in his work. A shame since the guy makes some pretty nice visuals, but his plot and character writing is just abysmal.
But still even as bad as Rebel Moon was, the Kuma flashback feels like it just barely gets a pass writing-wise compared to it.
Like why did Kuma feel the need to go through with the mind wipe by the end anyway? The only reason he underwent the procedure in the first place was because the WG was holding Bonney hostage, but she ko'd her evil nurse and the Marines gave her a bounty, so what reason did Kuma even have to avoid Bonney and not just join up with her crew for her own protection? The reasoning makes no sense to me and his desire to avoid her only caused Bonney to get beaten up by Blackbeard who used the opportunity to sexually harass a child.
Also you're telling me that in all those years as a revolutionary, Kuma never saw or heard of Money D. Fraudgon attacking a Celestial Dragon yet he somehow became the most wanted man? And Ginny is a master den den mushi manipulator despite being in the middle of a worst case scenario as a child-slave yet as an adult she couldn't tell any of the Revolutionaries where she was being held? And even without that info, the entire Revolutionary Army knew she was taken by a CD but didn't have the balls to go get her while Fisher Tiger and his little crew were not only able to get up there but even free a bunch of slaves while they were at it?
