The suffering must be unimaginable
The problem is when we get fights or skirmishes people let preconceived thoughts(notions) on charecters - headcanon- decide weather something makes sense or not.
For example we havent seen much from the gifters yet people treat them like foughter, so when we see zoro being hindered by a group of them (one of their first showing in the series and we learn that they were pirates that reached the new world and challenged a yonku) people start shitting on zoro because they think the gifters are weak.
Or with sanji "fighting"-it wasn't a fight it was a skirmish-page one people started insulting sanji because page one recovered fast even though a zoan fruit user heals fast,and in the manga the fight was extremly short.
Or with appo who has a semi hax ability (if you hear him you will get hit) people starting dissing on luffy and zoro,because appo is weak according to thier head canon.
Or now with the tobi ropo and people ranking them when only 2 of them have fought, when the fight with the tobi rope start they will bitch and moan on how a charecter who is supposedly stronger than Ulti is losing
Sorry for the rant its just people deciding thier head canon is right for no reason even though it contradicts canon annoyes me.

You do know that in one piece charecters get stronger from arc to arc, this shit was mentioned by zoro back in enies lobby(I think this was said by zoro,someone said that the crew gets stronger after each island and fight)
And no I don't think base Ulti is as strong as doflomingo.
