Controversial LGBT issues/Gender Theory

I’m tired of this topic appearing in the politics thread so I figure I’ll just create its own thread so that this convo can be contained somewhere else and others who are like politics but don’t really care about this don’t need to debate it every single day.

I wonder when those phobia terms came up and why people changed the word meaning.

Phobia is about fear. The term is used about the ones who hate but not fear.

Probably in the mid XX during feminist movements.
Nobody changed the meaning of those words.

Just like Islamophobia or Christianophobia are not used to mean "fear of" but "hate of".
Languages are full of words that don't really means what their suffixes means.

Its just strange that you choose to focus on those specific words.

It is not strange since those are the words that pop up the most in current time.

Phobia means fear of. And people are addressing it to the wrong meaning shouldn't be allowed but whatever the damage is done and popular knowledge changes the rules of language.

Not is usage.

The meaning is right, its you who don't accept it.
The meaning was changed because people used it wrong for so long and brought so many people to use it wrong too that now the truth meaning can be changed. This is how language evolves.
