Fighting for the future of the Marine is good. But Ray was the same fighting to protect Luffy, the future of the pirate and the legacy of his captain.

Well I don't think Garp’s will changed at all during those 2 years. He's off the mind that Old dudes shouldn't block the path of the new gen, we still have seen his determination before and during Hachinosu.

Keeping himself fit is the gamechanger here imo. I would've given it to Ray if not for that fact.

‘Maybe Sabaody Ray was a bit out of shape but I think his spirit was stronger than current Garp.

I even think current Ray who trained Luffy and fought a little bit during the last 2 years is in better shape than Sabaody Ray.

Don't hate the truth brother. Kizaru is not the main threat of the arc. He is just a subordinate. The main villain of the arc is Saturn. Kizaru will probably fight fodders like Zoro or Sanji

Sakazuki and Kuzan are damn near equals turning an island into half frozen tundra half volcanic wasteland.

Also, Kuzan actually defeated his opponent in Marineford; Kizaru didn’t. Kuzan > Kizaru

Garp is a legend who was put on the pedestal of Roger; something Rayleigh never had. Kuzan > Kizaru

Kizaru is weaker than those two has been the most consistent portrayal of the admirals

Sakazuki managed to stay up and tear a limb from an opponent, while true Aokiji was damn impressive to stalemate Akainu, it doesn't scream "Near Equals", to me that is Luffy vs Lucci in EL.

Garp is an Old Legend, whom needed to be softed down by Shiryu before Kuzan started doing something, and do not forget how he said his strength has decreased.

Aokiji defeated Jozu because his role was over, not because Aokiji was above Kizaru, since the latter would also defeat Jozu fairly easy.
