Buccaneers aren’t defined by their size as we know that there are many large characters which aren’t buccaneers(see: Big Mom).
Vegapunk even confirmed it this chapter. Even their strength isn’t the defining characteristic of a buccaneer.
So far, the only way to identify a buccaneer is via a DNA test.
