True, he hasn't been replaced but he has been a liabiity for a quite a good time, anyways now we need a good attack more than a dm. In his prime I have him ~ Alves and behind the monster trio (Xaviesta, messi) in terms of importance for that team.
Even in his aging years he was the system the team relied on. You don’t quite recognize it until he isn’t there.

There are better players than busquets in that prime Barcelona team but none will be the heartbeat of the team in the same manner he was. Messi notable exception of course.

Who would be the best replacement next season for Barca?
- Michel from Girona?
- De Zerbi from Brighton?
- Rafa Marquez?
- Thiago Motta?

De Zerbi is Guardiola's favorite young coach according to some Pep's interview. It also seems Barca is observing him since the years he was training Sassuolo in Italy a few years ago. He is also working with Ansu Fati at Brighton this season.
Michel is good too and already knows LaLiga.
Rafa Marquez,i admit i dont know how he is as a coach.
Thiago Motta is doing very well at Bologna, but maybe his play-style isnt exactly Tiki Taka? His Bologna plays well anyway

And,of course, there could be the big return of Guardiola! But it probably wont happen.
You all ain't ready for him

Xavi definitely was more so, one of the main reasons why we reached such heights, we didn't drop down that much at first when he left becsuse we had the greatest attacking trio, now we have bums up front.

I agree that he was the system.

I dont think he was ever liability lol, he RARELY is a liability in a match.
